To celebrate publication of this Supertato Sue Hendra, we've got fab competition with Simon & Schuster to win a Mr Potato Head children’s dress-up costume and £100 worth of books including a set of signed Sue Hendra books.

To enter, simply download the Supertato sheet, cut out the bits and get your child to create their own potato head character. Or you can come up with your own decorations for the potato - it can be a superhero, a villain or character from your own child’s imagination! Then take a photo of the design and upload it to this thread.

The comp is open until Thursday 16 July and we'll announce the winner of the competition shortly after on this thread and our Won anything? thread.

Find out more about Supertato, download the template and other Supertato-themed activities that your grandchildren can enjoy.

The most annoying gransnet ad EVER! sad

thatbags Thu 19-Jun-14 07:09:39

Moving bits of screen are very disturbing to people who are sensorily sensitive. You shouldn't do that, GNHQ.

How to piss of your members good and proper in one lesson.

Bags buggers off for the day/week/month... however long it takes.

sad

Hi thatbags and Marmight. Sorry to hear you're not a fan of our new ads.

We do have moving ads on the site most of the time, which haven't caused a problem (so far), apologies if this one does.

This is useful information and we'll definitely bear this in mind for future ads. Would you be kind enough to us email details to [email protected] (not post on thread) of why this particular ad is causing problems then we can look at avoiding this in future.

I think it is the speed of the movements and the bright colours. It's just too shouty and unpleasant and actually makes me feel slightly ill. Yes, I know that sounds mad but it's true nonetheless. The Time of Their Lives one is not so bad because the moving parts are slower and the colours are gentler. I think it's the movement that is so disturbing. Bright colours are fine if they don't move!

The disturbingness of potato head may also be the fact that it has a FACE! Human brains want to tune in to faces more than some other things because they are important.

So, in short, it is the hecticity of the movements and colours that I find troubling.

Hope that helps.

Thanks thatbags - that's good to know for future ads.
