Based on the best-selling novel by Sarah Waters and directed by Oscar-nominated director Lenny Abrahamson, The Little Stranger stars Domhnall Gleeson, Ruth Wilson and Charlotte Rampling, and comes to UK cinemas on 21st September.

To celebrate the release, we’re giving you the chance to win a pair of tickets to the film’s premiere in Dublin on 12th September, including flights and accommodation for two people at the Castleknock Hotel.

The Little Stranger tells the story of Dr Faraday, who has built a life of quiet respectability as a country doctor. During the long hot summer of 1948, he is called to a patient at Hundreds Hall, where his mother once worked. The Hall has been home to the Ayres family for more than two centuries. But it is now in decline and its inhabitants - mother, son and daughter - are haunted by something more ominous than a dying way of life. When he takes on his new patient, Faraday has no idea how closely, and how disturbingly, the family’s story is about to become entwined with his own.

How to enter

Simply fill in the form and answer the question below by 10am 6 September for the chance to win a trip to Dublin for the premiere of The Little Stranger.

Prize Draw General Terms and Conditions:

1. Open to UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man residents aged 18 or over, excluding employees of Pathé Productions Ltd and their immediate families, their agents or anyone professionally associated with this promotion.
2. No purchase necessary.
3. Applicants will be entered into a free prize draw to win two (2) tickets to the European Premiere of The Little Stranger at the Light House Cinema, Market Square, Smithfield, Dublin 7, D07 R6YE, Ireland on 12th September 2018. Doors open 6.30pm and the film will start at 7pm. Seating will be unallocated, so it is recommended that winners should arrive when doors open at 6.30pm.
4. The winner will also receive two (2) direct economy class return flights (1 for winner and one for a companion) from the mainland UK and accommodation (one [1] shared room) for one (1) night at the Castleknock Hotel, Porterstown Rd, Diswellstown, D15, Co. Dublin, D15 WNR7, Ireland for the night of 12th September (includes one (1) bedroom, dinner and breakfast for two (2) people but excludes telephone and any drinks charges). Check in time is 4pm on the 12th September, check out time is 12pm on 13th September.
5. The winner and companion will be entitled to one (1) item of hold luggage per person on the flights.
6. It is the winner’s responsibility to ensure that the winner and chosen companion have valid travel documents (i.e. passports) required for the flights and to enter the Republic of Ireland.
7. Flights must be direct flights only from an airport that is as convenient as possible for the winner. Winner and companion will be responsible for travel to and from the relevant airport.
8. Outgoing flight to Dublin must depart on 12th September 2018, with incoming return flight on 13th September 2018.
9. All other transport in both the UK and Dublin (i.e. other than the flights themselves) and all other arrangements, costs and expenses (including travel insurance – and we advise the winner and companion to take out travel insurance) will need to be organised and paid for by the winner.
10. The Promotion will run between 30.08.18 – 06.09.18 (10:00am)
11. 1 winner will be selected at random from all the entries received by us.
12. Only one entry per person.
13. No bulk, third party, automated or organised group entries will be accepted. Incomplete or corrupt entries or entries that are not in accordance with entry instructions will not be accepted.
14. We are not liable for any person not being able to enter the promotion for any reason, including and without limitation system failure, error, hacks on the system or personal computer issues.
15. The winners of the Promotion will be selected at random as soon as practicable after the end of the promotional period in a random draw from all valid entries, under the supervision of an independent observer.
16. The winners will be notified by email by 11:00am 06.09.18. To accept the prize, winners must respond by email to the notification email by 5:00pm 06.09.18 and will be required to provide personal details of the prize winner and companion in order to book the flights and accommodation.
17. The flight tickets will be EMAILED to the winner by Pathé Productions Ltd and the winner is required to collect the premiere tickets at the Lighthouse cinema on arrival at the premiere screening. Personal information about prize winner and companion will be shared with the Promoter's agents and third parties to the extent necessary for the prize to be delivered to the prize winner.
18. No responsibility can be taken for entries that are lost, delayed, corrupted, damaged, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered for any technical, delivery or other reason.
19. The Promoter’s decision is final. No correspondence will be entered into.
20. The Prize is not transferrable and no cash alternatives will be given in whole or in part. The prizes are subject to availability, non-transferable and non-refundable, must be taken as offered and will only be awarded to the winner as specified in these competition terms. The Promoter reserves the right to provide a substitute prize of similar value in the event that the specified prize or any part of the specified prize becomes unavailable.
21. We will not replace any lost, damaged or stolen prize items once they have been dispatched or are in the winner's possession. The winner acknowledges that, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for any warranty, representation, or guarantee (whether express or implied, in fact or in law) in relation to any prize, including but not limited to its quality or mechanical condition. The main prize is covered by the manufacturer's guarantee (if any and if applicable) only.
22. The Promoter reserves the right to verify the identity of any entrant or a winner before making the prize award.
23. The winners may be required to participate in publicity arising from the promotion and in connection with the premiere (which may include being filmed on the so-called “red carpet”) and no additional monies or recompense will be provided for such activities. Entrants accept that if they win, the Promoter and Gransnet will have the right, without additional payment or permission, to use their name and the name of their chosen companion for the purposes of announcing the winner of this Promotion.
24. By taking part in and entering into this Promotion all claimants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by these terms and conditions (which may be amended or varied at any time by us if circumstances make this unavoidable).
25. Winners agree that the Promoter, its subsidiaries, affiliates, related companies and employees, and any other sponsors, advertisers and promotional agencies shall have no liability, except and to the extent that it is not permissible by law to exclude liability (such as liability for death or personal injury arising from negligence or breach of contract), in connection with the acceptance or use of any of the prizes awarded.
26. The Promotion and these Terms and Conditions are governed by English law and each entrant hereby irrecoverably submits to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
27. Events may occur that render the prize draw itself or the awarding of the prize impossible due to reasons beyond the control of the Promoter and accordingly the Promoter may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to the Promoter as a result thereof.
