Women's Collective

Has anybody come across a 'Women's Collective' i.e. a group of women who choose to live together in a house for example. Communal kitchen, dining room perhaps, but private bedroom and bathroom.

I know some older nuns that live that way......but I'm not interested in that lifestyle although I respect many of them very much.

I'm thinking about moving to Spain for the winter, and Ireland or England for the summer and I'm looking at options. I could rent a place on my own but I'm trying to think 'out of the box' I'm a young widow and became a granny for the first time at 48! (That is not my age now)

Hi Redshoestoo also new here so welcome. The idea of living in a group with other women especially if own room was there to retreat to at times does have some appeal. You only have to see how everyone here supports one another at good/bad times to think what a comfort it could be and might have been useful when children were small if there is no family to give support. Can see it could also be useful at this time of life as we all have a wealth of experience to offer which is sadly under used at times. Hope you find somewhere to suit you and draw comfort from the experience

Also look up 'OWCH' (Older Womens Housing Co-operative) Regular meetings in London.I know 2 of the active members. but so far believe no suitable site has been found.
I looked into Co-Housing and 'Diggers and Dreamers' in my late 60s but very few successful collectives in UK although there are many in Holland,Denmark and USA..
