merlot the last time I tried to arrange appointment with GP I was given a date 17 days later. Our surgery sees patients on a morning without appointment but you do have to sit and wait, so that is what I did. I turned up and asked to see the first available GP, not my usual GP but he examined me, found the problem and treated me. The ligament was in danger of detaching in my thigh, if I had waited 17 days I may have had a real problem.

I don't care any more. Very soon it won't be "my country". In fact, it hasn't been anything that I hoped it would be when I was younger or anything like I think it should be now – so not my country. Can't wait to leave this hole and never return.

Why, when you are being served a meal in a pub or restaurant and you say 'Thank you', does the waiter/waitress say 'No problem' when there shouldn't really be a problem because it's his/her job to serve you a meal?

And little or no room for suitcases on many trains. Last time it was a case of shouting at a whole carriage of people "excuse me I need someone to move their case!!!" because there was a big pile of them. I mean to say! Outrageous!

Why do you have to book up more than a week in advance to see a GP? Are we supposed to know when we are going to be ill?
Why is it always so difficult to find a parking space?

Why didn't the guy I know who has given a huge amount of time to the local athletics club over many years get an Olympic ticket to see someone from HIS CLUB get a gold medal - or any other ticket when the MPs got shedloads.

Why aren't I sunning myself on Bora-Bora instead of sitting in my house deciding when I can stick the heat on?
Why does my son and his dear little family live in London instead of here, thereby making it easier to see them more often.
