To not have to work on my day off?

Can't think how we got off on time! Wasn't a bad shift by the end of the day and the patients were fab, understanding when we were a bit late answering bells. Looking forward to a lie in before I start again! Shouldn't moan really...

Poor you Ashmore, I have every sympathy for your situation. I am retired but well remember the amount of time off that was cancelled because of staff shortages!!! It used to upset me a great deal as I worked full time. Of course I was always tired working shifts that were extra, and it did ultimately effect my home life and health, to say nothing of the effect it had on the quality of my work. Frankly it shouldn't be allowed.

It's like a war zone today, luckily I normally only work 3. 12 hour shifts a week, looks like I can do a short week next week as long as no one else goes sick. We are not allowed to replace the Staff nurses we have recently lost, so can't convert the current shifts, on,y needs one to be off sick and it's like a house of cards! However, just come for a sit down and coffee. The last coffee was drunk cold 'on the run'.just as well I love my job! :0)

Surely this will mean you can't do your job properly Ash? In a stressful job where you need your wits about you, days off are vital. [Brew] to help you stay awake.

Crazy situation when there are people looking for employment and yet others are having to give up their well- earned rest days.
