Missing luggage

Thanks for comments. I have decided to ignore the flippin' thing and pack two holdalls instead. The problem is I have to also take two holdalls of food for a week for the two of us on the island of Skomer where we are volunteering for a week. A rucksack would have made it much easier.

It has probably gone to the same place as my red fleece cardigan went to a few months ago. I had searched everywhere and even asked GNers where it might be. All winter I had to do without it and then without any warning 2 weeks ago, there it was, in the place I keep all my fleeces. It was not even well hidden and I had pulled everything out looking for it months ago. Not sure where it has been but the zip is now broken which it wasn't before. I live alone and no one would have wanted to borrow it as it was my gardening cardi.
So my advice is Flower to ignore it, go on your trip without it and when it gets fed up of it's own travels it will return.

How about family "borrowing" it as that is where our luggage goes!! Thing is I never remember that I "lent" it to them until it is too late for the trip that is imminent.

Under a bed? Mind you I am the last person to hold forth on losing things.

Have you lent it to anyone, Flower? That's how I lose my stuff. I searched high and low for a suitcase the other week. I knew my son had given it back to me. It was still in the boot of my car! blush

.....to expect the one item of luggage ( a massive rucksack) that I need for my annual trip to Skomer Island to be easily found in my smallish house. I have also lost the suitcase I 'think' I put it in for storage. We have looked in the box room (a feat in itself). In the loft - no luck. In the, what used to be, office which is now a heap of DH's stuff of his late (17 year) mum, and his office from when he retired (9 years). We have pulled out two wardrobes, searched the heap of junk in the garage lost souls graveyard. No luck. He even suggested that I had left it when we last went on holiday. I think I would notice several items of clothing missing. Also had the brainwave that I may have 'vacuum sealed' them. Ever tried vacuum sealing a suitcase. I think not.
