Sorry, had to put this one in: Lorraine Kelly. She was on a quizz show recently and didn't know that the Sandringham Estate is in Norfolk.
There was a dim cricketer on with her and he wasn't sure if Norfolk was a county. Now that's really irritating.

All wafferling DJ s on Radio 2
Naga ( what's her name) on Breakfast
Thick people who go on quizz shows and know bugger all.
Better stop now, getting into my stride. LOL

I am not intolerant, you understand, just mildly irritated...

All of the above, plus chewing open mouthed. And anything else anyone else has yet to mention.

Amaaaaaaazing - even.

Terrafirma1 Sun 27-Jul-14 22:04:49

The over-use of the word "amaaaaaaaazig". Honestly if I had a fiver for everytime somebody utters that overworked adjective I wouldn't even need a pension tbangry

Female celebs guesting on food programmes like Saturday Kitchen drive me mad when they're asked to tuck in to a plate of food. They pick up a fork, balance the tiniest morsel of food on it, get the fork half way to their mouths and have another quick look at it as if willing themselves to eat it. Then (and I can never understand this) they hold their other hand under the fork as though they are so lacking in dexterity they cannot possibly make the fork travel from table to mouth without spilling food all over the table.

Also Alan Titchmarsh pretending to get sloshed when wine tasting on his chat show. If you look closely, not a drop actually passes his pinched little lips.

I love your comment Liminetta I wouldn't dare say what you said but I totally agree.

Yes Marelli bad table manners and awful holding of cutlery makes me want to rip the utensils from their hands and make them eat with their fingers, which I would prefer.

Marelli Sun 27-Jul-14 21:27:46

It irritates me how sometimes, people on soaps etc, hold their cutlery shock. Often it's held with the fork 'threaded' through the fingers of one hand and in the other hand, the knife pointing downwards towards the plate, like a harpoon.... why is that? It's mainly younger actors who do it, too.

liminetta Sun 27-Jul-14 21:18:14

what irritates me is when those people on the "obese" programmes start crying. So why do they cry? Because they obviously have no willpower, not enough to get off their** backsides, stop stuffing their faces and DO SOMETHING!!!!!!!

Oh yes, that passing of mugs of supposedly-hot tea or coffee, and the recipient just takes it without a wince - plus, you never actually see any liquid in the mug, even when it's held at an angle...

Elegran Sun 27-Jul-14 21:09:35

Yes, they must drink a lot of cold tea on TV, not just as a substitute foir whisky either. Come to think of it, maybe what is in the cup is really whisky, and they feel more natural holding it like a glass than by the handle.

NanKate Sun 27-Jul-14 21:06:21

For me it is when females on the tv sit hugging a cushion.

Oh and when they drink from a cup without holding the handle.

Gosh I must be getting old so many things annoy me. grin
