New ceiling paint

The quote doesn't mention painting, but I did ask specifically each firm we had quote as we both have neck problems. I feel sure the sales chap said they'd do it - but he said the job would be done in a week but maybe the electrician would call back into the second week -we're now half way through the third. And the fitters would move all the furniture back and refix the blinds - apparently they've finished and not coming back - so.... It looks like we're paying a painter.

The plasterer offered to do it. He said the plaster he uses should be OK to paint in four days! (I'd forgotten the watered down paint etc bit) I think I'll ring my DS tonight. And pay him!

DH doesn't seem phased (not like him) so I think he was half expecting it. Our fault for not asking the right questions and checking thoroughly.

The quote for the work should have stated whether painting was included.

When we converted the integral garage into living space in our last house, we had to wait for the plaster to dry out as charleygirl says. Then we were told to give it a thin coat of watered down white emulsion paint and let it dry before painting with the desired top coat colour. It actually took two coats to cover.

I don't think you can expect the plasterer to paint it Nfkd!

What surface is it? If it's new plaster snatch his hand off. I'm just starting my fourth (and last) room in our new annexe and I am longing for some light at the end of the tunnel. It's hard work and uses up a lot of paint.

Will the paint be included in the price?

The plaster will have to dry for a couple of weeks at least before you think about getting it painted.

Personally I wouldn't expect painting to be included in the work.
£120 sounds a bit pricey, do you not have a friend or relative who could could do it for you ?
I assume it wasn't in the contract.
