We have not got a profile page

We cant edit.

We dont have a posting list, [who posts what where] available on many other sites.

GN entices with books, freebies from the publishers.

Sadly we are being bought for a mess of potage.

Owners dont give a tuppenny toss what we do as long as their coffers are filled, and not a sweary word from me YET

As for profiles, there's a lovely thread somewhere with photos and profile notes - even I managed a photo!
Probably not everyone, but several pages.

Alea Wed 11-Nov-15 15:18:01

So the "ouch" makes him/her "quite disabled", jollyg?
Pass me my blue badge then! grin

(Might have been a figure of speech?)

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Nov-15 16:01:37

For the profiles thread, put 'Substitute profiles thread' in the search box.

Galen Wed 11-Nov-15 16:29:53

blush I think that might of been me!
And yes, I am disabled

soontobe Wed 11-Nov-15 16:32:08

It is quite possible to find the quote in this instance.

soontobe Wed 11-Nov-15 16:33:38

x post.
Yes it was you. There are not very many of us on that thread.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/2505620-Do-you-have-a-profile-Come-and-read-this

Just seen this on mumsnet

Alea Wed 11-Nov-15 17:36:26

Sorry to hear about your blended knees, Galen that does sound painful grin!!

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Nov-15 17:37:03

I knew it! Why didn't they just tell us? hmm

I take it 'Jeffrey' is the hacker. Or the bloke that sent out the SWAT team. Or are they one and the same person? confused

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Nov-15 17:40:56

You know, I think it's bloody insulting - the way they've palmed us off with Tech being busy. We really are the poor relations of MN aren't we?! they have obviously kept the Mumsnetters informed.

Makes me wonder why I bother with this site. angry

jollyg Wed 11-Nov-15 17:43:07

Sorry to out you G, it was not my intention.

I only posted because HQ seems to ignore any requests.

I complain only because the owners make money from us, i have said it all before., and having read the previous post, security aint all it should be

I am quite happy to be here but there is a'wind' up culture which I dont like.

Engage brain before posting, take deep breath, and we will all be well .

Jings All power to your faster response

Ana Wed 11-Nov-15 17:45:22

OFGS why couldn't Cari just have told us?

You're right jingl, it is insulting - and patronising! Does GNHQ think we're so old and doddery we need protecting from the very idea of people like 'Jeffrey'? confused

soontobe Wed 11-Nov-15 17:46:31

Were our profiles off way before the hacker though? [confused}

One and the same person I think. But two have been arrested?[I havent read the Telegraph link thoroughly]

Poor Justine and her family and aupair. What a dreadful thing to have happened. sad

Why police would call it victimless, is a bit troublesome. They ought to know that just because people were not physically hurt, that is not the definition I would have thought of victimless.

trisher Wed 11-Nov-15 17:47:19

Do you suppose they thought that if they told us there were hackers we would all close down and disappear from the site? (Don't tell Gran she'll just panic!!!)

soontobe Wed 11-Nov-15 17:47:22

post to jingls 17.37pm

soontobe Wed 11-Nov-15 17:48:24

I did, to be fair trisher. I think I was the only one to do it publically.

Ana Wed 11-Nov-15 17:49:05

No soontobe. Our profiles were turned off after the 'hacking incident'.

Ana Wed 11-Nov-15 17:51:16

Well, we knew Mumsnet had been hacked, of course, but GNHQ reassured us old duffers that GN had not been affected. They probably turned our profiles off as a precaution - fair enough, but why be so shifty in any response to our queries?

Galen Wed 11-Nov-15 17:56:02

I think/ hope I posted on bended knee but I've just noticed the spell correct thinks my knees should be blendedconfused

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Wed 11-Nov-15 18:49:33

Just to let you know I've posted a response to the whole profiles/hacking thing over here: www.gransnet.com/forums/site_stuff/a1220745-Dear-Cari?msgid=25647407#25647407

Iam64 Wed 11-Nov-15 19:01:18

hello there Kat - I CBA to get wound up about the profiles thing. I suspect it's because I'm retired after years of stressful work environments and now have much more pleasant things to think about. Many thanks for all the stuff you do at GNHQ

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Nov-15 19:13:45

shock

That is so obviously sucking up! grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 11-Nov-15 19:15:21

I've got pleasant things to think about too aksherlly. Made my Xmas puddings today. smile

Alea Wed 11-Nov-15 19:26:36

Oh why do you have to be so rude to people??
Iam64 isn't sucking up, just being nice, why does the simple fact of thankIng someone at GNHQ have to bring on such an aggressive reaction.
Is it really preferable to be so curmudgeonly?
