So many Gneters think that it is not fair to target the readers of certain newspapers - and yet- the front pages of some of those newpapers are full of hate targetting foreigners, day in, day out. Today foreign drivers who phone or text at the wheel. Phoning or texting at the wheel is a menace, and should be stopped - whether it is mum or dad on the school run, white van drivers or lorry drivers, anyone- irrespective of nationality, sex, ethnicity, profession - ALL:

Totally agree with his 'rant' of the sheer hatred and racism in the popular Press at the moment- which is spilling out onto our streets too:

STOP PHONING OR TEXTING AT THE WHEEL - be you Polish, or British, or a dad or mum on the school run, or a Trader, or ... ANYONE - JUST - STOP - IT - please.

Sorry about the typos- watching tv listening to DH and posting on GN!

Perhaps the Daily Mail has similar guidelines?

"Nobody is born hating another person because of the colour of their skin.
People learn to hate.
They can be taught to love for love comes more naturally to the human heart."
Nelson Mandela.

If there had been no protests in South Africa, where would it be now? It would still have appartheid.
I know it's still not perfect, but it's had three generations of people being taught to hate, whether black or white.

There is no doubt though, that over the years Lego has become more aggressive.I Have been buying it for DGS for years (now 12) so know what I'm talking about.
They are not cuddly toy makers.

durhamjen Sun 13-Nov-16 17:04:24

I think that's on the wrong thread, roses.

Ana Sun 13-Nov-16 17:06:10

No it's not.

suzied Sun 13-Nov-16 17:13:43

I like this new Lego figure

durhamjen Sun 13-Nov-16 17:15:39

"The Justice Committee condemns any personal attacks on members of the judiciary. Free debate should not be couched in terms of abuse of individuals who, by virtue of the oath they have taken and the role they discharge, cannot defend themselves publically. It is quite wrong to vilify or attack judges or attempt to intimidate or undermine them. The right of the press to speak freely must be exercised responsibly; it is not a licence to attack judges in a personal manner or seek to undermine the constitutional principle of judicial independence, which is absolute."

Ana Sun 13-Nov-16 17:32:31

That's old news, durhamjen - at least 5 days old. Not like you to be so slow...

Jalima Sun 13-Nov-16 17:44:58

I think roses post is on the right thread confused

Does the judge come with a Lego courtroom, jury, barristers, defendants, witnesses etc etc - otherwise really boring.

ps I am sure that Terence Etherton knows better as a former member of the Olympic fencing team than to wave a fencing sword without a mask, jacket, glove

Don't do it, Lego Terence!! shock

rosesarered Sun 13-Nov-16 17:47:52

I think the figure is meant to be a marine( the army of the Navy) under King George!
Think of Pirates Of The Carribean.grin

suzied Sun 13-Nov-16 17:55:43

Did a pirate really have a wig and gavel?

Ana Sun 13-Nov-16 17:57:33

That's a bloody long gavel! shock

rosesarered Sun 13-Nov-16 18:02:48

Not a pirate.. grin suzied but a Marine! They had swords.

rosesarered Sun 13-Nov-16 18:04:23

It may well be meant to be a judge, but it reminds me of a Marine from the film Pirates Of the C.

Nelliemoser Sun 13-Nov-16 18:08:45

Can someone on GN show me exactly where on GN someone has said another poster has actually called a DM reader stupid.

It's all very well to say that some DM readers on here "feel" they have been verbally put down or that they feel it has been suggested they are stupid etc.

Unless a poster has ever actually said on here I think that you are stupid etc because you are a DM reader, it is probably the way you percieve youself.

Jalima Sun 13-Nov-16 18:09:39

They still do, they are not issued but they have to buy them.
Not sure if they have to trail them, like RN swords

Jalima Sun 13-Nov-16 18:10:09

what was that all about?

Ana Sun 13-Nov-16 18:10:58

Charming! You're on a roll today, Nelliemoser...

Jalima Sun 13-Nov-16 18:11:13

Ana it doesn't have a point on the end so it may not be a sword confused

Ana Sun 13-Nov-16 18:12:32

It looks like a long, thin truncheon to me!

Nelliemoser Sun 13-Nov-16 18:14:52

from POGS post

"I am accusing those who repeatedly belittle, sneer , make disparaging remarks at any opportunity against people who read the Daily Mail, The Sun any paper THEY assume beneath their choice of reading material because of their belief they are more intelligent.
I rant against the newspapers "way" of presenting news. Not the readers.
Now read my comments below.

Jalima Sun 13-Nov-16 18:15:20

It's not a very flattering image, is it?

Sir Terence hasn't got that many wrinkles and is better looking altogether.

Candlefran Sun 13-Nov-16 18:32:12

Ooh heck! Am I turning my grandson into an aggresive monster by buying him some of this for Christmas? Nexo Knights shock But he loves his Lego!

Candlefran Sun 13-Nov-16 18:33:32

It's got "rapid fire stud shooters". shock And a sword is mentioned somewhere.
