I have suffered from acute, recurring depression for all my adult life. My children have had to watch me at my lowest, blackest times, but despite all that they have grown into the most caring, patient adult you have ever seen. They have an amazing knowledge of mental health issues and love me for who I am. My youngest son has even saved my life once when I felt I could take anymore and tried to take my own life-he was just 19 at the time. That son, Andy, has now chosen to run his first marathon in aid of MIND, the mental health charity, could anyone spare a few pennies to sponser him here? www.justgiving.com/fundraising/bakermarathonman
I am so proud of him I could burst! Thank you so much.

Just like to say well done Cazzajen, it's the hardest unseen battle to deal with, & I would think that your son(& other children) are as equally as proud of you as you are of him & them. Wishing him & you all the best for the marathon & raising money for a very deserving essential charity. 😊

Cazza - it seems as though you have every reason to be proud of your son. I hope your 'Black dog' has been successfully kennelled, at least for now.

You must be so proud of your children and I am sure they are proud of you. Good luck and all good wishes.

Oh I couldn't be prouder of both my sons, they are both my rock as I hope I am theirs. They are both fiercely loyal to me and know me so well that they understand and support me every day. In a strange way I know that the awfulness of the depression has turned them into well rounded men, who know how to listen, empathize and support, not only me, but their partners too.
