To be feeling anxious and overwhelmed

Witzend. I had a lot of clothes moths infesting a wool carpet and in clothes too. I saw no 'beetles' but the caterpillars' aim was to get as high up the walls as possible and pupate, often behind pictures or furniture. The odd one even got into drawers (the storage kind!!) Spraying noxious chemical products helped but the mating hormone sticky traps didn't attract a single moth. Maybe it wasn't the moth mating season! I'll never again buy a wool carpet!

Yanbu! Yanbu! You have a lot of bad things going on! Of course, you feel "anxious and overwhelmed!" (((Hugs)))

I often feel like this. I think I've only got myself to blame. I compare myself to others who've got a better, cleaner or generally better organised life than me, or at least that's how it sometimes feels. It generally only last a day or two before I come to the conclusion that I'm in the category of 'the comfortable can't be arsed who really gives a toss as long as it's reasonably clean" group of housewives people. I haven't seen a post from you for sometime flower so here's a (((hug))) and it's nice to hear from you. Let's hope for a bit of to lift our spirits. Hope you get it all sorted soon.

I empathise Flowerofthewest. DH is a lovely man but such a hoarder and a messy one to boot. Every so often I get overwhelmed by the clutter and the state of the place and feel embarrassed to have friends around. The GC love it all of course as their homes are much tidier. With pets and lots of toys around as well as well I'm onto a losing wicket I think. I'm my own worst enemy though as I HATE housework and I'm not the tidiest of people myself. So perhaps I should just go with the flow. I do get depressed about it though on occasion and then I think 'What the hell?'......until the next time

Tell your DH that the magazines will encourage mice and get rid of them.

We've had carpet moths, too, and a few holes in the sitting room carpet to prove it.
I think they're just what we used to call clothes moths - they have attacked a couple of nice jumpers, too.
We have sprayed the edges of the carpets regularly, and dh has bought a mass of sticky traps which give off some sort of mating hormone, and they do catch a lot. However we will know soon how effective all this has been - any eggs will be hatching out soon. Have hardly seen any over the winter.

?Sorry to hear it Flower and I know that carpet moth is a horrid infestation from hearing about it from a friend years ago.In the grand scheme of things it may not sound bad but taken with other worries it gets you down.I hope that you are soon feeling better about things.

Did the carpet moths infest the wine? No, well pour yourself a bucket full and then hide under the duvet. Tomorrow's another day and hopefully it will be a bit brighter for you

Oh no! How does one get the beetles/moths? I want to avoid at all costs.

Yes - we had the beetle that is the precursor of the carpet moth - we had to get the council bloke in as the little b****rs were everywhere. I was worried that the stuff he sprayed on might be toxic to the GC and kept them away for a week.

It never rains and all that - I hope more peaceful times are just around the corner.

We have also had an infestation of carpet moths. (they are not a special kind of moth - they are just moths that happen to be living in carpets.) We only discovered them when one of the rooms was being measured up to have a new carpet. We had to get in a company similar to rentokill to fumigate the whole house. (oh the shame!) The carpet fitters would not fit a new carpet unless we had a certificate to prove that the infestation had gone. They would also not take the old carpet away as it might contaminate their van, the council had to take it, but luckily our council did not charge. You have my sympathies.

Horrid carpet moths sound yuk. Never heard of them.
