New Vauxhall Ad.

Is anyone else appalled by the new Vauxhall ad directed at the Pyjama Mamas? Who on earth do they see as customers? The only Pyjama Mamas I see round here are sitting outside the shops with a fag in one hand and a can of Red Bull in the other. None of them look as if they are in the market for a new car. If you are the sort of person who manages to dress before you leave the house this ad is hardly going to encourage you to buy a Vauxhall.

Saw it yesterday Deedaa, and couldn't believe that company would waste money on such a horrible advert

Greyduster Sat 08-Jul-17 08:23:09

To paraphrase - "nice car; shame about the ad!"

Cherrytree59 Sat 08-Jul-17 08:24:50

4x4 used to be owned by farmers
Now the market seems to be school gate mums
So if the school gate mums are also the pyjama mamas ....

There is only one car AD thay has stuck with me

"Papa"
"Nicole"

Luckygirl Sat 08-Jul-17 08:49:39

Yes - but which car was it!!?

DanniRae Sat 08-Jul-17 09:09:50

I saw this ad yesterday and thought it was awful!!

merlotgran Sat 08-Jul-17 09:19:50

Found it.

I think it's funny.

Mapleleaf Sat 08-Jul-17 09:29:58

Renault, I think, Luckygirl.
I dislike the new Vauxhall ad too, but in some ways it's working because we are remembering the make and model! 😏

Auntieflo Sat 08-Jul-17 09:35:50

Don't think that I would remember that the car was a Vauxhall, just that I really disliked the advert. One I do remember from a while ago was for a Picanto car, with the little cartoon girl getting in/out and pulling down her mini skirt. Made me smile

Deedaa Sat 08-Jul-17 20:29:54

This one doesn't work because I've seen it several times without noticing the model at all. I only know it's Vauxhall because I made a point of noticing who was wasting all that money.
I did like Papa and Nicole smile

Cherrytree59 Sat 08-Jul-17 21:02:11

Luckygirl Renault Cleo

I'm appalled at the culture of pyjama mamas , I associate them with low income and even lower intelligence . I hated the advert . What if grannies started to go shopping in their goonies ?
Goonie Loonies - what would we advertise to drive ?

ElaineI Fri 04-Aug-17 18:28:23

Never seen the advert but I am horrified at some bigoted and prejudiced remarks on this thread!
How anyone can be so insulting to say a person (human being) is low income and lower intelligence just because of what they wear, drink, smoke beggars belief! Really angry about this!

DeeDaa, yes, I agree - horrible advert. I do wonder who the target audience is.

rafichagran Fri 04-Aug-17 21:24:36

I drive a corsa, just would never go out in my nightwear in it.
I have to admit though I am not offended by the ad, I just think it is silly.
I think it is slovenly to to go out in your nightwear , and I always wonder if the people who do have had a wash.

Deedaa Fri 04-Aug-17 22:40:16

ElaineI the trouble is that if you meet them regularly and talk to some of them that is how they come across.
