Could anyone help here - some long serving and very interesting members seem to have just vanished. How did that happen. DJ, GGMK2 and WW. Where? and Why?

Is that why you posted on it mcem

What a petty and childish thread!
Nanna na nanna!

I miss durjen's posts

trisher that is most definitely not true. Nor, imo, was there much of a debate allowed. There was plenty of monochrome dictats but alternative views and opinions were not tolerated.

Jalima1108 Mon 16-Apr-18 22:26:29

trisher that is not strictly true.

lemongrove Mon 16-Apr-18 22:15:32

You must be ‘aving a laff’ trisher ! grin

Not true Trisher

Jalima1108 Mon 16-Apr-18 22:07:50

politics threads although there aren't any
They come under News and Politics trisher, as GN wouldn't split them and there are currently several running.

If you click on 'Forums' at the top and then on News and Politics in the list you can find them.

"Alive & kicking" - Usual word is "mortuis" - dead - but an online Latin-English dictionary translates "discessis" as decamped.

Bridgeit Mon 16-Apr-18 21:22:39

That is not actually correct Trisher, one of them was particularly insulting to others.

Bridgeit Mon 16-Apr-18 21:15:55

Well Grumppp, I’m sure they are alive & kicking elsewhere?

Anniebach Mon 16-Apr-18 21:09:59

Doesn't anyone speak Welsh ? ☹️

grumppa Mon 16-Apr-18 20:51:06

De discessis nil nisi malum!

trisher Mon 16-Apr-18 20:47:17

Woo if that's an example of kinder postings I prefer the rough and tumble usual in politics threads. One thing none of the three ever did was to bring personal criticisms into politics.

Thank you Elegran I knew I could count on you to complete the saying (you will have noted that I didnt!)

Alima Mon 16-Apr-18 15:29:47

This is a darn sight more educational than the News and Politics threads! Keep um coming folks!

Katek Mon 16-Apr-18 15:22:12

At least there’s now a tabula rasa for others!

(Gee, the gears were grinding there.......!)

Elegran Mon 16-Apr-18 15:13:20

Not de mortuis but de discessis?

MawBroon Mon 16-Apr-18 13:52:59

Not dead Elegran but "departed"
My Higher Latin didn't run to adapting the saying?

Anniebach Mon 16-Apr-18 13:48:29

Enough discussion going on about Syria , is this not political ?

trisher Mon 16-Apr-18 12:17:40

Isn't it funny that the people who go on about how nice the politics threads are now (although there aren't any) are the people who called many of the left wing posters names.

Elegran Mon 16-Apr-18 12:05:14

Welshwife the political discussion threads will pick up again. At the moment I don't think anyone wants to be the first to start a thread over there without the absentees who provided the bulk of the posts.

It was and is obvious that they did post most of the comments, and whatever the reason for that, it would be a good thing if a lot more posters contributed.

..and reading these posts?!
