Never lived in a named house but a family member did . Jonliste. I bet you can't decipher their names from that can you ???
I've seen plenty of narrowboat s with comical names.

House numbers only for us- same thing as personalised number plates - not really us.

I saw a sign by a front door which said THE DOG HOUSE.
Couldn't make my mind up whether it was what the DH was in or because they had lots of dogs.

I have only ever once lived in a house with a name, but as that is also my password I can’t share it (or I might have to kill you)
But I am amazed at the type of person locally who gives their house a pretentious name. Not you Panache!
There is one at the edge of the small development I live in in our village (we all have numbers) which calls itself ““——- Lodge” . As if!
And our old house (very old, an 18th century farmhouse which had been divided in two) was always “2 The —-“ as it overlooked the village green.
Its new owners call it “2 —- Farmhouse” All a bit Hyacinth Bouquet.
I have never seen the apocryphal “Dunpayin” or “Erzanmyne” but I bet they exist somewhere grin

Sanctuary because it's where I feel safe.

A little light entertainment on this sunny Monday morning.

I shall kick off with some of our own.......

Knotty Pines......named because we planted pine trees all around the garden plus some ceilings and walls indoors were clad in pine wood (complete with knots!!)

Cast-a-way......living on a cliff edge overlooking a busy harbour and bay we oft felt as though we were castaways far away, though sadly there never was an island!

Morningside........a cottage overlooking the same Bay and the bright morning eastern sun, which on a good day bathed the frontage in an orange glow
