Yes, you are being unreasonable, Alexa. You need to look at why you object to these photographs.

The pictures at the top of my page look like pretty average, normal grans. Maybe a bit better groomed than I am at the moment, but I don't find them "impossibly lovely" at all. I've never wasted time comparing myself to other women - we're all different , all have our own qualities . Surely at our age you can see that , and stop feeling negative about other women ?

I see that radiant, attractive,vivacious woman every morning in my mirror.
Then I put my glasses on

How sad would it be to feel inadequate every time you see a pic of an attractive woman?
Brings to mind the angsty teenage problems we read about when young women believe that airbrushed celebs are real.
As mature experienced women, surely we're past that stage.

I have absolutely no idea why the concept of 'pornography' has been brought up in connection with these photos. I assumed at first that the OP meant photography, that the word had been autocorrected. It seems, though, that pornography is what was intended. Well I'm totally confused

In recent years the word pornography has been used in a distorted way in everyday speech.
Shoe porn.
Clothes porn.
Food porn.
I understand it to mean ogling and lusting after something unbelievably wonderful and out of reach.

I think you lighten actual pornography by calling pictures such as you describe pornography. So , in answer to your question - yes I think you're being unreasonable .

Madgran, I mean that pornography is usually sexual material. Not all sexual material is pornography as we know. Pornography titillates while it fails to describe real people .

The essence of pornography is that while it is often nice to look at it also makes people feel inadequate. I submit that those photos make many grans feel a little inadequate.
