A man named Guy Chapman has been ordered to change his name, because it isn't politically correct to have three 'male' words in your name.

He was going to call himself Person Personperson. Someone then pointed out that you can't have 'son' and not 'daughter', as that is discrimination.

He is now known as Perchild Perchildperchild!

Am I wrong in thinking that snowman is literally describing the snow statue which most, if not all of us, have built at some time in our lifetime and they are usually depicted as a snowman? Being politically correct has gone absolutely crazy, as has Health and Safety. Is there someone, somewhere, just sitting at a desk saying 'what can we "regulate" next?

SueDonim, that is horribly amusing.
Too many humourless people in this country with not enough to keep them occupied.

It’s much easier to make a snowman than a snow woman and there is rarely enough snow down South to make anything else. Our last snowman was about 18” high. As children when we had regular thick snow we would make whole Snowfamilies complete with a snow dog.

The last time we had thick snow where I live now, a decade ago there were snow constructions dotted all around our local park and someone/some people had created a large as life anatomically correct snow couple. I went back next morning with my camera but they had been destroyed by someone without a sense of humour.

Nope, Can't have mother Christmas. This is actually classed as a genuine occupational quality and so the job can be advertised as male only.
Could have Mrs Claus though ;)

Slightly off topic, but some years ago, on a roundabout on dh's route to work, someone had fashioned a huge snow-willy.
Sadly he could never stop and take a picture of it, but it gave him a good laugh every morning.

Whatever the Beeb decide to call the usual sort of snow-erections, I don't think that any time soon children will be rushing out after the first fall of snow to make a 'snowperson'. Doesn't have quite the same ring to it, somehow.
