Sounds decidedly dodgy to me, phoenix. She doesn’t coincidentally have a contact out there she could recommend, does she?
In any case, by the time you factor in transport, accommodation, insurance, aftercare (that presumably wouldn’t be covered by the NHS), is there much of a saving to be made? Fingers crossed your own GP will be more help.
