Aibu. DH watched me strip the guest bed this week saw the linen drying and then watched me iron it and put it back on the bed ready for whoever stays next. The next night he moved into that bed because I was snoring. Agh!
I haven’t said anything because on a previous occasion I spent half day cleaning bathroom for guests coming the next day only to find him using it instead of the en-suite we usually use. This caused a huge argument. Is it me?

Rumpole. Not rumpled.

Although he was wasn't he?

Gonegirl Thu 07-Feb-19 17:41:04

"She" was Ayesha.

Gonegirl Thu 07-Feb-19 17:40:30

Look, I can't not say this. "She who must be obeyed" comes from the novel 'She' by H Rider Haggard. Rumple only used it.

Carry on with the thread.

I have to bite my tongue when hubby cooks. He's a very good cook and makes the most delicious meals, but he also takes AGES and uses every single pot, pan and utensil in the kitchen and doesn't wash up as he goes along, so I end up doing it. He also tends to drop things on the floor and either forgets to pick them up, or leaves a mess on the floor. BUT he does cook. He's planning to put a new bathroom in soon and I'm thinking of emigrating...

Incidentally, i found this site advertised as Granparents.Net. I then made my first couple of post still under that apprehension. However as stated, on receiving a barrage of Prejudice from some on this forum I have since then been determined to remain.

grin

oh the irony

Grandad1943 Thu 07-Feb-19 17:30:15

In regard to men on this forum, In my case it has been anti-male sentiment and posts that have been directed at me since day one on this forum that has made me determined to remain on here.

And that will continue.

lemon GN is such a lifeline for those of us females stuck at home chained to the kitchen sink, the ironing board, the cooker etc etc
while the men chat with the neighbours whilst pretending to clear out the gutters

Eloe as others say ( men not engaging with this site) it’s just called being honest. Most men wouldn’t want to be in a social media site called Gransnet which is almost all women and their concerns.
There are other sites with an equal balance of men and women, or male dominated sites.
Or as Jal says, a lot of men prefer real life chats with friends.

Grandad1943 Thu 07-Feb-19 17:11:20

Equality works both ways even though that may annoy some on this forum. confused

Cherrytree59, it may be that me and Rufus are not the type to go sitting in sheds. We are out here on the full forum and we are staying without a shadow of a doubt. wink

Cherrytree59 Thu 07-Feb-19 16:56:19

Rufus What about dusting down the cobwebs and putting the kettle on in Grandads shed?
someone's already removed the lid from the toilet smile

Grandad1943 Thu 07-Feb-19 16:51:01

I forgot to add the grin to the above, just to add the humour you ladies always look for in me. grin

under your noses, or should that be beaks?

However I dont think it is us anybody is laughing at..
And while I don’t think anybody has problems with self deprecating humour. “Beaks” and “girls” is just patronising and neither witty nor appropriate.

Gonegirl Thu 07-Feb-19 14:14:51

Not proud Eloethan . Just honest. Perhaps it's a "Men are from Mars" thing.

Jalima1108 Thu 07-Feb-19 13:08:43

Lavatory humour is never clever.
You haven't seen my lav! Nor should you! grin
C'mon you "girls"! You're so full of indignation that you can't even recognise bait when it's scattered under your noses, or should that be beaks? grin

My husband wouldn't join Gransnet either, but I don't see that as a particularly desirable thing. Perhaps if men were more willing to chat and express their emotions and opinions, without feeling they have to dominate a conversation, I think that would be a very good thing. It might improve their mental health.

Some of the female posters on here seem quite proud that their partners would not engage with this site. In a way, that reinforces the stereotype that the interests and preoccupations of men and women are totally different: that women are silly little creatures who engage in silly little pursuits, that men are far too busy and important to chat just for the sake of it and that it is somehow admirable that men keep their distance from women.

MawBroon Thu 07-Feb-19 11:08:14

Apologies Gonegirl you are right of course and you do have a point, poor chap is trying.

MawBroon Thu 07-Feb-19 11:06:39

Clever?

hmmhmm

TMI and a rather irrelevant observation IMO
Come off it Maw! I couldn't care less about your IMOs You know you don't like any of my posts so why torture yourself by reading them? I thought it was clever, so there! I now await your sycophants taking up arms; unless they are on my side. grin That'll be the day! Moregrin

Gonegirl Thu 07-Feb-19 10:54:34

Awww! C'mon. Poor man's trying to be funny. Bless.

MawBroon Thu 07-Feb-19 10:36:08

Frankly Rufus not many here would wish to witness your distress in the slightest.
