Did anyone else find Prince Charles wearing so many medals-presumably from the family dressing up box-offensive? The medals worn by the veterans were well earned.

Not offensive, no. Royalty have always gone in for lots of medals. I did however wonder what was hanging around his neck. It was a very fancy medal, in a ribbon.

On a ribbon!

We commented on it. Yes we realise he is probably Commander in Chief of this, that and the other but he’s not been ‘active’. The veterans there were outranked. But not outclassed.
Heroes one and all.

DD day? grin
Someone’s been listening to this week’s Dead Ringers!

He was in the Royal Navy, Urmstongran but not seen enemy action as far as I know, unlike Andrew.

If the serving personnel of the Army, RN and RAF etc of which he is Field Marshal, Admiral of the Fleet, Air Marshal don't find this offensive why should we?

I was a bit confused at that and also Prince Edward having a chest full of medals. My dh spent 14 years in the navy, some of it at the same time as Prince Charles, but he doesn't have any souvenir medals! grin

Not sure why Edward has any confused
