She was in her element. I believe the speakers get 2 mins to make a speech and she managed it in 118 seconds. She didn’t let Trajani’s interjection to “come to a conclusion” get off her stride. If they thought Nigel was a pain for years, now he has another orator beside him.

I think while her mother was alive she kept her daughter rational (they lived together and AW was devoted to her). Sadly, since she died, AW has completly lost the plot.

She might be getting on a bit but don't be fooled, Ann is the ultimate battle-axe....THAT was a performance to be reckoned with. Well said woman!

Slaves rose up against their oppressors after being forcibly taken from Africa to work until death on the plantations in the USA. No choice in the matter, they were enslaved and treated most cruelly.

The UK on the other hand freely joined the EU and were delighted to do so after being turned down at first. Under that agreement the UK thrived and reached 5th place in the wealthy nations of the world. I fail to see the comparison.

I think she's trying to revive a political career which died some time ago. In the meantime she sought to keep her name in the public arena appearing in the jungle programme and Strictly.

As modern slavery is a huge issue this was a crass and insensitive comparison to make.

This is the woman who thinks there should be a cure for homosexuality and as Prisons' Minister agreed female prisoners be restrained whilst in labour so they couldn't run away. This is not the reasoning of a rational person.

She handed out prizes at Dd3's school leaving do. She was funny, inspirational and kind.
