Not over the side of the boat, over the bows ("the heads"). The on-rushing water washes the hull clean most efficiently there.

I have had that bug.... it really wiped me out for a few days and I couldn't eat, everything tasted disgusting.
Toilet situation was totally dire!! blush

I do feel a lot better today and have eaten all my porridge. However I would not risk sailing today myself!

Only you know if your DH is likely to have been malingering, though I can empathise with you that he never shows concern for your IBS problems. flowers

Mmm, well, his sailing is obviously important enough to him to suddenly feel better and make the effort. Is it a coincidence that it was a three day bug? Timing wise, that is?

Up to last DH has been suffering with a tummy bug for 3 days. He has lain on the settee moaning between trips to the loo. Suddenly, this morning, he has made a miraculous recovery and declared himself fit to go sailing (no loo on the boat!). I have IBS and never get sympathy from him. Talk about man flu - this is a new one.
