One word txt getting fed up!

I am in a similar situation with 1 friend. Eventually I said that I seemed to make the most effort & asked if she wanted to continue to keep in touch. She assured me that she did, that my friendship was very important to her and that she needed me. Things improved for a while but we are now back to where we were and I am thinking of giving up.

I have a friend who lives several months a year abroad. I regularly txt her or WhatsApp call and we have a laugh and good chat All free on WhatsApp

Today, not the first time, I get a txt ‘hi’. Normally I send a long reply or phone but feel like not doing so Why can’t she send a longer text or ring me for a change ? or am I being a misery ?
