At 35yrs old, Prince Harry has served 10yrs in the Army , fought in Afghanistan
Started the Invictus games for wounded soldiers
Walked across the South Pole
Raised Hundreds of millions for charities
Helped raise 1 billion for 9/11
Supporter of 24 Charities
Lost his mother at a young age,( as did William)
William has also been exemplary in all he does.
If he is happy with Meghan , living somewhere else , good luck to him,he deserves it.
Time to give them a little respect.

I think it is generally known that the Tory party is a Far Right party now. It has lost it's backbone when it threw out the good Tory MPs a few months ago to ensure the Far Right ERG would not be challenged. Britain is the only country in Europe where the Far Right has been successful. People were pretending things were not happening in Germany 1930s, we can no longer pretend our country will never be the same again after a couple of weeks.

I have just had a Les Dawson moment , imagining some Grans arms folded, lips pursed as in the sketch : Saying
those well known words ‘ Ohh she’s no better than she ought to be’ . .......... it would be funny , if it wasn’t so sad, & just downright spiteful.
I am ashamed to be a female sometimes.

Anniebach Sun 19-Jan-20 22:48:22

Nothing to do with him, his wife or his mother.

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 22:42:05

Harry, Harry Harry ?....am sure he wouldn't mind, wanting to live an informal sort of life as he does.

He needs to stop with the ‘powerful and moving’ speeches, unless the subject is nothing to do with him or Meghan, in other words stop making everything about himself in such a self indulgent way.

Yehbutnobut Sun 19-Jan-20 22:28:48

A powerful and moving speech from the Duke of Sussex. Funny how his detractors will always put see the negative and not the positive.

Perhaps some should stop calling him Harry as if you are in first name terms with him.

annep1 Sun 19-Jan-20 22:24:40

And stop demanding that they give up their private residences and private wealth.
This is not a communist state although some may wish it to be so.

And where did the wealth amassed by the monarchy come from originally. Was it earned?

I am neither a monarchist nor a communist.

Anniebach Sun 19-Jan-20 22:21:02

He has made a speech, why oh why doesn’t he stop , more
about his mother and the press, he is either using her to get the sympathy of the public or he is in denial.

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 22:10:03

Harry is already publicly moaning about the outcome of the talks......he wants it all ways.

lemongrove Sun 19-Jan-20 22:08:14

endre.......where did you get your idea that ‘far right parties always try to attack the constitution’ from? Are you talking of the UK?
The Conservative Party isn’t a ‘far right Party’ in any case, but there is no evidence to support your statement.
I suspect you already know this and it’s just your personal conspiracy theory.

Not a stretch at all! Far Right parties always try to attack the Constitution and we have seen that already by lying to the Queen. This Govt were also in contempt of Parliament, something that had not happened in moden times. The Far Right journalists who attacked Meghan are the same who spread lies during the General Election campaign. Some believe we no longer live in a democracy. There will be attacks on everything we value until thuis Givt gets its;' way on everything, including destroying the Monarchy.

The Far Right want to get rid of the Monarchy to make Boris Johnson a President.

Crikey

That's a stretch!

I probably heard & read the same announcements as everyone else & what I saw was the Queen being very loving and kind to Harry, Meghan & Archie as he was really finding the demands of Royal life too much on his mental health. His brother was his crutch is now a family man & everyone agrees Harry has been a bit lost since his brother married. Now he has his own wife who adores him & sees the stresses the demands of public duty have on his mental health.
The aggressive attacks of certain journalists and presenters were the last straw. We really as a country must demand Leveson2 to clean up the disgraceful reputation as the worst media in the world. I can name abt ten journalists who know very well they caused this upset to the Queen. They (all Royal correspondents) were banned from a Royal event yesterday.
An assumption or a whisper becomes truth to them, they know there is an elderly public who feed on lies & hatred. And worse, racism. Because that is what is at the root of this.
The Queen herself hinted at the media hatred which has poisoned minds. These "Royal Correspondents" should be sacked, it will not be long before they turn their attention to another female member of the Royal Family. The Far Right want to get rid of the Monarchy to make Boris Johnson a President. The next step will be getting rid of our Judiciary.

I'm with the positive posters. I've never been a royalist, but I wish Harry and Megan a happy life in Canada with their son. Harry and William's mother was given a rotten deal by the older generation of the RF and I think they're getting their come uppance now. As someone else said who wouldn't want to distance themselves from the likes of Charles and Andrew.
I also think this can be laid at the door of the British tabloid newspapers who are allowed to print lies and scandal without penalty. The damage the latter have done and continue to do to this country is unforgivable.

Bridgeit I am in total; agreement with you - and that is the only contribution I will make to this thread

A PR chap said they will become as famous as Brad and Angelina and David and Victoria !

pinkquartz Sun 19-Jan-20 17:54:31

So it is fine to make money from being Royal without actually Being Royal in terms of any duties.
So all the rights without the responsibilities?
Which is becoming a common trait and not a positive one.

Because M&H plan is to cash in on their Royalness, but not do the boring part

I feel the same KittyLester.
I really want to be wrong but...……...
