Any words or phrases that you can't stand?

Insightful instead of the perfectly good English word 'perceptive'
Bradford, I take your point, but this is an example of two words with different roots meaning the same thing, 'Insightful' is of Anglo-Saxon origin, whereas 'perceptive' is of Latin origin. However, 'insightful' must be one of those words that migrated across the Atlantic and has come back as an intruder!

Or should I say, as a 'perceived' intruder.

Starting a sentence with ‘so’
Saying somethink instead of something

"myself" and "yourself" instead of "me" and "you" it has now become very widespread. if a salesman calls me "yourself" in conversation I don't buy, that is my one woman protest.

Most of the above.

I had forgotten about ‘my bad’, which is a ludicrous phrase and seems to be creeping into television dramas!

At the end of the day....winds me up something rotten! I always but in and say, "It's night".

Never heard: ”my bad” - what does it mean?
As a language teacher, there are many turns of phrase which I really can’t stand. For example:
Starting a sentence with “so”
Hubby
The wife
You guys
Could of, should of, would of
Aah bless - we took the cat to the vets once and every other word was “Aaah bless!”
Myself and yourself in the wrong context
Pronouncing H as haitch.
I could go on for ever........

Suddenly we have 'people that'. It's people who and things that!
Yes, 'can I get?' is seriously irritating. I've heard that occasionally the person who is being asked replies along the lines of, 'Customers aren't allowed in the kitchen but don't worry. I'll get it for you!' Even if that's an urban myth, it's a good one!

I try always to order with, 'I'd like...' ?

'See you later' from checkout operators etc that I don't know.

Starting a sentence with “So”WTF no need?went on a trip abroad a year ago, and the guide started every sentence with SO?!!

I remember my teacher when I was in primary school giving me a good telling off for using "off of" so have never used it since!

He/she was sat.......nooo, it’s he/she was sitting. Drives me mad!

Ahead of instead of saying before. Why not just say before? It annoys me every time I hear it. BBC reporters use it a lot.
