Wow! That's beautiful! Imagine the excitement for the person who unearthed that!

Yes, I was astounded by the pendant, when I saw the photos in the Guardian. I covered the article up and asked my partner to guess when it was made. He thought the 1930’s because it looks so Art Deco.

It’s the most beautiful thing and 3000 years old ...

Gorgeous and makes me wonder who wore it and how it came to be lost or hidden.
I once tried on a piece of ancient gold jewellery and can still remember the sensation of its history around my neck.
Too much imagination?!

I'm glad you posted this Dinahmo and Thankyou MiniMoon for the link.

So beautiful, I wonder what happened to the other one?

I saw this beautiful piece yesterday and it immediately reminded me of many Art Nouveau, similar styled jewellery, which be came very popular.

The workmanship is outstanding and I love the design.

Thank you - I'm not very good at links and copying pictures.

I saw that on the One Show yesterday. It looks as if it was made yesterday. I'm so glad it will remain in this country.

That is such a stunning piece and so interesting.

Beautiful, what a work of art. I remember when Picasso saw the cave paintings of horses in France he said something like 'we have invented nothing new'. Makes you wonder.

I was interested, so as you haven't posted a picture Dinahmo, I found the article.
here it is for anyone else. It's beautiful.

There's an article in the Guardian yesterday about the latest acquisition by the British Museum. It's a 3000 year old gold pendant which looks like a piece of 20th century jewellery. I'm amazed at the workmanship, so delicate
