To want a tattoo

I'd love a tattoo but at the tender age of 73 I don't know if I'd be able to suit one. My son Sherman thinks it is an awful idea for me to get a tattoo but I can't help feeling like I'm missing out. What are your opinions on tattoos? Should I go for it?

The point is that nobody cares.
It's been a nice thread, with lots of different people posting, and it had lasted all day with no unpleasantness, and that's pretty rare here lately.

Time to go and paint me plinths, I think.
Nice meeting you Ethel, give my regards to Sherman.

Ps. I really think you have to get a tattoo now, just to prove yourself. wink

Sherman is the name of my son, not a joke. I understand how along with my username it could be misinterpreted.

Ethel - with reference to Sherman being cockney rhyming slang for pleasuring oneself, I was reminded of others that you may want to consider.
Lamb shank - I find this difficult, as I am a life long vegetarian, but MrC does love a LS. I do them in the microwave.
See also Barclays - This was Kenneth Williams' favourite term for onanism.

On meeting for the first time, the young woman who keeps me, and my house, in order, I thought wearing a rather colourful lace blouse. It took some weeks for me to workout the lace blouse was in fact tattoos the length of her arms. Knowing my aversion to tattoos, my family found it very funny.

Thank you jerseygirl

Get a tattoo, i got a tattoo of my grandsons names on my wrist last year. I'm nearly 65 and dont regret it. I wanted something permanent. I'm thinking of having another one.

Don't worry about it.
It's a really lovely thread, so who cares?
It's wasted my whole day when I was planning to paint my kitchen plinthes. Or plinths.

Go for it! I intended to when I turned 50, but never got round to it. That was quite a while ago. But maybe I will yet do it.
