I feel so angry with Meghan & Harry

All the drivel about privacy and they do an interview with Oprah. I feel ashamed for Harry that he feels the need to air his dirty linen in public. What do they get from this? I have no idea. Prince Philip is in hospital and I just feel like saying shame on you both.

Ladies, ladies please let's not fight over the tiara or any other pieces of fabulous, decadent and incredibly expensive jewellery that we know is the hall mark of all royalty.

We can 'borrow' pieces for special occasions from the Royal Gran's extensive collection. I do think though that priority should be given to any RG who is to be interviewed by Oprah.

I'm now wondering if I should return the hair colour I bought yesterday Marydoll and exchange it for a blue rinse.

I really do think we should see if we could book a room at Buck House or possible Windsor for our first meet up lemongrove and if we make Liz an honorary member I'm sure will be able to get into one or the other.

GrannyGravy I assume the royal Grans will welcome anyone who is not only able to produce a good cocktail but can hold their booze too. On a silver salver of course.
Don’t worry about the knitting, there will be staff for that but do treat them with dignity. Not dignitas, unless they are very very old.

As far as I can see M is giving the Oprah interview because three years ago she was told she could not give an interview to Oprah. And for the benefit of Archbishop of Canterbury who did not recognise Oprah, (can you believe it!) at a reception.

Well done the Palace staff who had to bear the brunt of this couple's ignorant behaviour, for fighting back.

lemongrove ??? you had me at rampant bloaters!

NellG Sat 06-Mar-21 09:53:04

Ellianne, lemongrove no need to fight, come the Glorious Day all tiaras will be equally shared amongst the peasants populace.

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 09:49:52

There seem to be a contingent of SAPs peeking in.
Serious and Persistent

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:46:20

Yes Nell I come from a long Scottish line ‘of that ilk’ and we have a bloater on our coat of arms (rampant) so I shall look forward to your bloater based treat.I carry my own pint glass at all times, and am happy with whatever you have to fill it with, as long as it’s alcohol based.?

GrannyGravy13 Sat 06-Mar-21 09:45:03

Sorry I cannot knit, crochet or sew however, I make a mean cocktail ?, can I join someone’s gang please

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:42:00

We may have to investigate you for bullying behaviour in that case Elliane and the tiara is MINE!!!

NellG Sat 06-Mar-21 09:41:38

I knew you were the right ilk for us lemongrove - we shall tap into our hidden stash of bloater paste especially. We've been stockpiling since 1934, we'll crack open our finest vintage - the Bollinger of bloater! You'll be able to smell it at a radius of ten miles.

People often identify with celebrities they never met never will meet. Sometimes there is hero worship sometimes sympathy. Sometimes people seek and believe they find a role model.

For instance someone may feel for Meghan simply because she is black . Someone else may feel for Meghan because she is a commoner, and black , who defied the richest aristocrats in the world. That is quite a story one must admit!

Ellianne Sat 06-Mar-21 09:38:34

Does one have to be sharp, needling and digging to join the splinter group?
I'm rather going for the royal clan too but I want the duck egg blue sparkly tiara and what I want, I get!

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:37:48

We could have a special Royal Grans meet up at The Savoy when lockdown ends.

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:36:24

Grrr. Where did pastel come from? Think I have been hexed.

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:35:04

Paying, not laying ( although I would be laying down)??

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:34:17

I’m definitely up for that Nell and am ace at travelling at speed on the top of a dial-a-ride, it’s what I do all the time to avoid laying the fare ( though not in Accrington) so that will be new for me.Will there be bloater pastel sandwiches?

sodapop Sat 06-Mar-21 09:32:06

Marydoll you forgot the secret onesie - whoops cat out of bag time.

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 09:29:32

Royal Grans sounds appealing as long as I can have a title please
LauraNorder Ducksegg of Somesex.
My tiara will have duck egg blue sparkly things.
My son Peckin must remember he’s a spare.

NellG Sat 06-Mar-21 09:29:01

Grannybags Yer in. Await the secret signal...

NellG Sat 06-Mar-21 09:25:10

lemongrove having revealed your full name to us I strongly suspect a fifth column... I'm afraid you will have to perform the full range of contortions and submit a video for scrutiny, we will also be measuring your hems. Further tests of your loyalty will be random and pointless. Including being able to consume a full afternoon tea from a rolling trolley on top of a tour bus. Except we can't afford LA, so it'll probably involve being strapped to the roof of a dial a ride minibus in Accrington. It's all we can stretch to.

kittylester

I might be a Senior gran, I've been here since almost the beginning and I'm 72. I haven't banned anyone!

When was the beginning?
Obviously this means I definitely don’t qualify as a ‘senior’.
I hope that being a senior isn’t too stressy for those of you who do.?

littleflo Sat 06-Mar-21 09:23:28

She is in a ‘no win’ situation. She had no idea what was in store fore her as a member of the Royal family. As a mature woman she was expected to completely change her personality. The constraints must have been unbearable.

I don’t agree with the way that things were done. Once they knew that this was not the life for them, they should have just given up everything and lived a life without the royal privileges.

Some awful things have been said about her in the press. The majority of which, seem to blame her and exonerate Harry. She is not the type of person to go quietly. She will not put up with being blamed and pilloried for the rest of her life.

I am in the minority I think, in having some sympathy for her. I shall not watch the programme, but I would be dishonest to say I won’t read the reports in the newspapers.

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 09:23:22

Did somebody say ice cweem. I’ll have a ninety nine please.

Grannybags Sat 06-Mar-21 09:19:35

I'd like to be a SAGGIE please - I'm sure I'd fit in better than trying to be part of the Royal Gran Clan!

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 09:10:42

I seem to have missed all the fun last night, is it too late to make a bid to be part of the Royal Gran Clan?crown
Failing that, the GN Mafia or the one just proposed by Nell will do.....as long as I am the Boss.?
I already have one pj leg shorter than the other ( due to my dodgy talents in hemming) so will have no need to roll one up, and I can do any amount of unusual handshakes and contorted positions?
If admitted to the Royal Gran Clan I insist on having the diamond and emerald tiara I have my eye on, and if thwarted will ‘thcream and thcream and thcream’ ( yes, my name is Violet Elizabeth Meghan Lemongrove.)
