Katie Price gets away with it again.

Should Katie Price have been given a suspended sentence and a 2yr ban, which she undoubtedly will ignore. This is her 5th conviction for drink/drug driving. The judge said she had "one of the worst driving records I have seen".
Why is she allowed to own a car, anyone allowing her to drive a care should also be committing an offence. It is only pure luck that she has not killed anyone yet. On this occasion she managed to flip the vehicle. How does she get away with it?

She's spent a life in the media since her teens, arguably the result of the "glamour" page 3 photos. I don't think prison would help she'd come out with more addictions. She's irrevocably damaged. I feel sorry for her children

I wish there was a way of stopping this person from ever owning any animal ever again.
Her dogs have been run over because she takes no responsibility for their safety.
One dog was crushed in the back of an armchair.
I believe that Ms Price may well have a personality disorder. However, she appears to be surrounded by enablers.

Zoejory
I doubt she/we would know she had been injured with the amount of plastic in her!!

Quizzer
I wonder why she didn't get sent down, she certainly deserves it?!
Oh her kids, what would they do without her at Christmas, how would they cope?
Probably a damned site better without her there!!
I think it's atrocious that she got off so lightly, but then she's a 'celebrity'!!
One we could do without, for sure!

She has had lots of help kitty she been in the priory more than once she’s been through various forms of therapy what else does she need or can she be given
Perhaps a sharp shock restricting her hedonistic lifestyle could be a better answer and I’m not anti Katie Price I think she is a damaged girl who has constantly damaged herself and those around her ( I sure with no intent I think at heart she’s a kind, caring person) but this can’t go on it’s time after time she s either injuring herself, being injured by others, or risking others lives because of her damage and her need for attention to validate her being
For those who watch Corrie we have Curtis who has admitted to pretended to being ill (dying) because the time he got the most love and attention in his life was when he was ill in childhood

I'm in the camp of thinking that prison isn't the answer. She needs lots of help not incarceration.

Helen657 Fri 17-Dec-21 22:50:05

I’m so glad she didn’t kill or seriously injure anyone!
5th time caught drink/drunk driving, and uninsured too - if it were you or me we’d be in prison, never mind a suspended sentence.
As others have said, she obviously has many problems, but maybe the short sharp shock of a custodial sentence would be enough to force her to face her demons?

Parsley3 Fri 17-Dec-21 17:30:00

Let’s be thankful that nobody was injured or killed as a result of her behaviour.

AmberSpyglass Fri 17-Dec-21 16:08:15

The thing is, prison won’t fix what’s actually wrong with her and it’s likely to make it worse.

MissAdventure Fri 17-Dec-21 15:18:15

She obviously has problems, she isn't the first or last, by far, so we can only hope she finds peace before something terrible happens as a consequence of her behaviour.

wildswan16 Fri 17-Dec-21 15:11:43

She makes a big deal about being such a loving, caring mother - and yet brings her children up in chaos, swans off to America with the latest boyfriend, bad mouths their fathers, drinks, takes drugs, breaks the law, gets into debt despite all the money she earns, must break her sick mother's heart.

She needs to disappear from the media for at least three years while she sorts herself out properly.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 17-Dec-21 15:02:03

I think she is a very troubled young woman who will continue to lurch from crisis to crisis until such time she acknowledges she has problems and seeks professional help.

Forsythia Fri 17-Dec-21 14:08:53

I think she needs a shock to the system and prison May have been the wake up call she needs. As for her family, I think they enable her because, thanks to her, they are also celebrities of a kind and are living a lifestyle on the back of her fame according to those that know her. For example, her sister and mother appear on TV. Would they without her fame? The fathers must be exasperated because no matter what they do to get the kids to lead a normal life she managed to create drama all the time.

I agree with you TerriBull.
She honestly is a loose cannon.

We either have rules or we may as well have done.

EllanVannin Fri 17-Dec-21 14:04:13

She needs to get her mental health sorted out before anything else. There is a definite disorder lurking within her.

TerriBull Fri 17-Dec-21 13:48:04

flump she regularly goes into The Priory where there are many psychiatrists, I think there has to be a willingness on whoever is under a psychiatrist to act on whatever counselling they are given. Her continued behaviour patterns would indicate that these sessions have made little difference. On the one hand she acknowledges she has behaved irresponsibly, but resorts to petulance when she is criticised by those affected, such as the fathers of her children. I do think she could well be on the autistic spectrum and if so, that could have some bearing on why she continues to repeat the same behaviour patterns.

flump Fri 17-Dec-21 13:13:06

I do think she has mental health issues and might benefit from specialist help.

I read the police are wanting to appeal the sentence as they regard it insufficient considering her past record.

Perhaps a custodial sentence and psychiatric help could be combined somewhere.

TerriBull Fri 17-Dec-21 12:54:48

I was surprised she didn't get a custodial sentence given how many driving offences she has clocked up and this one had pretty serious implications. She has received a hefty community service sentence, I thought I read 1000 hours and I hope that she is made to serve it.

KP is a complex character, on the one hand she has done a sterling job with Harvey her eldest disabled son. Having said that she seems to suffer from some sort of arrested development, for example when the 2 fathers who have the main responsibility for the younger children, recently criticized her erratic behaviour from this last episode her response was akin to a thwarted 14 year old with a "I hate the fathers of my children" response. Someone on MN mooted the possibility of her being on the autistic spectrum and that at times that seems plausible, she certainly has a whole gamut of addictions and with never ending trips to The Priory, she still continues in the same vein. Similarly with the men who enter and depart her life, she comes across as a troubled soul who can't be on her own, hence any port in a storm. I believe it was the fact that she was booked into The Priory that saved her from going to jail, surely the judge had noted that she broke that stint to fly off to Las Vegas for some "I'm getting married" buffoonery, only to declare later "but I'm not really!"

Her terminally ill mother who seems to be a lynch pin and a steadfast support to her in spite of her own health issues must worry herself sick over her.

VANECAM Fri 17-Dec-21 10:09:59

She is a complete liability.

The courts have failed to exercise their full powers.

They will be left to regret it since she will not change and will surely do it all over again.

Urmstongran Fri 17-Dec-21 09:45:55

She’s high maintenance this one that’s for sure.

glammanana Fri 17-Dec-21 09:44:58

She won't wait 2yrs before she gets behind the wheel of a car again, the sooner she is locked up the better.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 17-Dec-21 09:42:01

Disgraceful. She will be back behind the wheel again, uninsured, drunk, and kill someone.

Sarnia Fri 17-Dec-21 09:38:55

She is completely messed up, physically (just had her 13th boob job), mentally and emotionally. Since Peter Andre her choice in men has been a disaster. They only seem interested in parading Jordan on their arm and living at her expense. She is in her 40's but desperately trying to get back to her 20's. A prime attention seeker. She will do anything to court publicity. Someone close to her needs to take her wellbeing firmly in hand and get her the professional help she so clearly needs. To answer the post, yes, she has got away with it again. Had that been you or me our feet wouldn't have touched. It will all happen again but I sincerely hope that nobody gets killed or injured because of her selfish actions.

Kim19 Fri 17-Dec-21 06:02:14

Think it's yet another example of 'money talks'. Let's face it, if she went to jail, she'd only end up writing a book about her experiences and, sadly, many people would buy it.

Mmers Fri 17-Dec-21 05:18:43

I'm Canadian, live in Canada. I had to look her up as I had no idea who she was. Ugh. She's a menace

Nansnet Fri 17-Dec-21 04:04:45

It's shocking that she didn't get a prison sentence! Surely, at the very least, after 5 drink/drug driving charges already, she should've have been banned from driving for life, not just another 2 years!! I'm sick of all these 'celebs' getting away with things that ordinary folks never would, and shouldn't!

They then go on to be treated like they are victims because they have such difficult, stressful lives. The media are all over them, paying for their sob stories, and interviews. Then they're being offered lucrative jobs on tv, and earning more than most ordinary, hard working, decent folk could only ever dream of! Don't get me wrong, I'm all for people doing well for themselves, but not repeat criminals!

Frankly, I don't want to see this woman on tv ever again, knowing that she's being paid a fortune, after getting away with her criminal activities yet again! What kind of message does that give to young people today?!
