If this annoys him, point out that as he is monopolising your present and making it "not new" before you have played with it yourself, you thought he wouldn't mind if you took the newness off of his. Offer to swap with him - he can play with his new toy, and you will play with yours.

Seriously? ???. If you chose your jigsaw and wrapped it, hardly a surprise anyway. Just buy two more and tell him THAT is yours, this is MINE. Then go off and play with his train set ?

If he cannot share nicely break up the jigsaw and put it back in its box.

I'd just get another jigsaw and leave him to yours for now. Let him finish it and then swap. He obviously likes jigsaws as well as train sets (as do I!).

I sympathise with you Treetops it is irritating. I feel the same way about a book or magazine, I want to be the first to read it not my husband. Irrational I know.

Buy him a Wasjig jigsaw puzzle. What you see on the box is not what the puzzle is, it's the view - if I have this right - as if you were in that picture looking towards the puzzle, and what you'd be seeing!
Or an impossipuzzle of baked beans on a plate.
And then treat yourself to something else.

Thanks all you made me smile ? I know it sounds silly and childish, but I just want something that is mine? I would play with his trains, but he has them in a shed in the garden, quite cosy but...

Sodapop, luckily my OH finds no joy in books, being somewhat dyslexic...just my puzzles ? I was ultra annoyed last night, as he finished 2 puzzles in one day!

Here’s a practical solution for you buy one of those cases I have one and the jigsaw goes away behind my sofa when I m not doing it and is there, completely the same as I left it not moved in any way when I open it up again
Then his little fingers won’t get the chance to fiddle
