Apparently it is the fashion to dress like a goddess at the moment.
Do any of you feel that you would want to dress like that.
The 50s films from America always had luxury clothes but now days we seem to want to dress down. Jeans, trousers trainers
which I wear a lot.

It’s just so much easier to bin it after tearing my address off for shredding. I don’t mind them wasting their money sending me catalogues. I remember when that company was first started, it really was a kitchen table enterprise and the lady running it was so grateful for orders. How things change.

I phoned Woolovers and asked them not to keep sending me a catalogue or emails; the very nice woman there said it might take some time but in fact the catalogues seem to have stopped coming.

Such a waste of paper and trees as they seemed to arrive once a month!

Unigran4 Fri 25-Feb-22 13:48:46

Germanshepherdsmum don't bin your Woolover catalogue, it will keep on coming relentlessly because they will think you have looked at it.

Instead, strike your address twice (do not obliterate, they need to know who is sending it back) and write on it "unsolicited mail", RTS and put it back in the post box.

Your postman will get it back and return it to sender. You will have to do this 2 or 3 times before they will take you off their mailing list, but it's worth it in the end.

I worked for Royal Mail for 20 years so this is not a fanciful, unfounded suggestion

Good luck

Christine I think you must be Nemetona, goddess of boundaries and edges.

Ps will buy designer if in sale especially if it’s a handbag or shoes ?

Mamma7 Fri 25-Feb-22 13:39:14

I love looking ‘dressed up’ I’ll wear a few sequins gardening or cleaning the toilet. Just got biker boots trimmed with pearls - fab! Quietly pleased when GC say ‘like your style’ ! Even the dog wears a jewelled collar - poor thing has no choice!

Perfectly happy here in my George jeans and jumpers, don't care what anyone else may think, they're perfectly adequate for my needs, don't see the point in spending ridiculous amounts of cash for the same items bearing a different label.

BlueSapphire Fri 25-Feb-22 12:34:07

I'm a goddess in Sainsburys jeans and a Primark top; don' t know whether they're made in China or not; don't think M&S Cafe is quite the place to be undressing to look at the label........

Alioop Fri 25-Feb-22 12:26:52

I was out with the dog in Tesco leggings, my insulated coat and trainers. The dog had her new yellow coat on and she was the goddess who was getting all the attention prancing along in it

Yammy Fri 25-Feb-22 11:42:31

Of course, I look like Doris Day, in "Move over darling", really handy when cleaning the windows one dog walker goes past at least 3 times when I'm in my pencil skirt and suspenders.
Nah, I really look more like her in 'Calamity Jane", only swop the leather trousers for jeans.blush

christine96777 Fri 25-Feb-22 11:33:57

I must be the goddess of what lives in the hedge. I don't mean shades of green and ethereal, I'm talking wind blown rubbish with its colour washed out by the rain and sun. Lol

I’ve, pretty much, given up on store clothes. Things such as bust darts don’t always appear in the correct place…etc.
Now I will make my own as I did when I was in my teens and twenties, albeit I am a lot larger. Yes, I am fortunate that I can sew but I have also taken on a sewing course to improve on that skill. Yes I will have fewer items of clothing but I will know how they are put together and they will fit.

henetha Fri 25-Feb-22 11:13:05

You're absolutely right, Blossoming. I am indeed a chicken, and am very happy to be called Queen of Chicks!
I've added a red cardigan now as the heating has gone off and it's cold.
Your name is lovely and spring-like... smile

Blossoming Fri 25-Feb-22 10:58:46

But your name sounds like a goddess! Henetha Queen of Chicks.

henetha Fri 25-Feb-22 10:48:45

I'm at the purple with red stage now. It's allowed when you are very old. I'm wearing my purple fleecy house trousers with a red jumper this morning. . I never was a goddess anyway.

Blossoming Fri 25-Feb-22 10:44:50

Today this goddess is wearing a quite old Seasalt shift dress and even older Bon Marché jeggings. Neither item was made in China, but I suspect any replacements might be.

Scribbles Fri 25-Feb-22 10:20:27

I don't need to dress like a goddess. I am a goddess.?

BigBertha1 Fri 25-Feb-22 09:33:39

Still in my M & S nightie and dressing gown

tanith Fri 25-Feb-22 07:57:21

I’m putting on fabulous Tesco jogging bottoms in black a Lacy number in black that has thermal properties and I’ll add my Next coat and not posh wellies to take a very muddy lake walk with my equally goddess attired daughter later.

TillyTrotter Fri 25-Feb-22 07:46:34

I’ll be out for a fish and chip supper tonight wearing this little Goddess number ….

Kim19 Fri 25-Feb-22 04:14:50

Have to agree about LE demise. Just sent back two shirts for first time ever. Appalling quality. Didn't realise it was the China syndrome. Guess last hope is lovely old Burberry which still generates posh to me although ancient. A bit like myself!
