To think this is grooming in plain sight

This is an active topic on MN at the moment.
I would have serious concerns about any parents wanting to take their child to see this show.

I doubt that Hattie Harman would have been in favour of lowering the age of consent, they had left the group before PIE evolved I thin.

MissAdventure

There was a movement called PIE, (I think) in the 70s.
They very nearly became mainstream and accepted as a legitimate organisation.
I could name one of the mps who was on board with it, as it was openly becoming accepted.

Oh yes, that's it, I couldn't remember the name of it.

Some MPs got unwittingly mixed up with it, Harriet Harman and her husband Jack Dromey and Patricia Hewitt I think.

PIE. Paedophile information exchange.
I knew it would come to me eventually

It is illegal to have sex in front of your children now isn't it? confused not that i would have done. I don't really want to google

And who do we think is at the back of this ‘let’s sexualise our children even earlier’ campaign?
Politicians have approved it.

Oldwoman70 Fri 08-Apr-22 16:43:37

I knew woman who allowed her children to see her and her boyfriend naked, would openly talk about her sex life in their presence and admitted to me that the children sometimes wandered into her bedroom when she was having sex - her 7 year old son was caught simulating sex with a 3 year old girl!

I am all in favour of teaching children about staying safe, but can't they be allowed to enjoy a childhood - they will ask questions when they are ready

DiscoDancer1975 Fri 08-Apr-22 16:42:36

I’ve just been talking about the Mary Whitehouse documentary, on another thread.

I’m sure this would have horrified her. We didn’t know this, but apparently it was her campaigning and hard work which basically prevented paedophilia becoming lawful!

Are we just going deeper into depravity with this? What on earth are we doing to our children?

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 16:26:48

Is there somewhere to a access their safeguarding training qualifications or certificates?

It's interesting to note that the views on here of who are presumably older people are in line with the views of parents on MN.

We (possibly) grandparents are not just being prudish.

Galaxy Fri 08-Apr-22 16:16:09

I have no where said it is a state orgy, I am sure someone somewhere planned the rainbow monkey which broke all safeguarding guidance.

Galaxy Fri 08-Apr-22 16:13:34

They dont say they work with the NSPCC do they? They say in line with NSPCC research which is a very different thing.

PECS Fri 08-Apr-22 16:10:21

Galaxy it says that they are trained re safeguarding in case there are disclosures

The period when some of the actors are naked is less than 5 minutes. It is not an on stage orgy.
As I have not seen it I don't know but could imagine it could be done very well.

Callistemon21 Fri 08-Apr-22 16:02:35

I think it sounds prurient.

Small children seeing Mum or Dad naked and answering questions honestly and simply is one thing but this production appears to go far beyond the normal level of interest and awareness of most small children.

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 16:01:27

I don't think naked dancing is going to give much credence to the idea of safeguarding.

PECS Fri 08-Apr-22 16:00:39

Also seems to have worked with NSPCC in the development of the production.

Galaxy Fri 08-Apr-22 15:59:36

I was quite concerned about some of their information on safeguarding I would like to know what training/qualifications they have relating to safeguarding .

PECS Fri 08-Apr-22 15:57:22

I have just read the FAQ section on the website. I think it is probably a well thought through production.

"One of the aims of The Family Sex Show is to promote safeguarding. It has been made with the understanding that informing young people about their rights and bodies is a key aspect in sexual violence prevention."

Can't do a link but this topic is on Mumsnet - aibu - Deeply concerned about Child Safety in Bristol at the moment and is up to 28 pages long.
It makes for some very interesting reading.

snowberryZ Fri 08-Apr-22 15:22:23

there’ll be free workshops available for families a few weeks before the shows

The mind boggles

MissAdventure Fri 08-Apr-22 15:17:19

Well, that looks like a load of old b*llocks, frankly. (Pardon the pun)
