Should I complain or AIBU

Got a neighbour few doors down that, unfortunately, ruins the entire street by playing very, very loud vibrating shitty music. It sounds like they have a huge surround sound system and bass. It vibrates throughout the entire street and especially near me because I'm not that far away, so I cannot imagine how their next door neighbour must feel. It always seems to start late into the evening when we're all getting ready to go bed. There's a lot of shouting and singing going on as well angry

I will admit it isn't every single night but it happens roughly about 3 times a week, especially during the week when we need to get up for work / school, and it will go on until about 1 in the morning, most of the time.

The reason I do not want to complain because I don't want it to go on my record when it is time to sell my house (I know I have to declare any disputes or reports about your neighbours). Sounds harsh but it will ruin the chances of me ever selling, because unfortunately it looks like we might be at some point.

Should I just stuck it up, or say something about it? I don't want to approach them as they appear very drunk and shouting when I saw them coming out of their house). I really don't want any hassle so I'm thinking of writing a letter and post it anonymously? Or is that being cowardly? I had enough.

Honestly, I just want to have a quiet evening, just like the rest of the people on my street, because these idiots are the ONLY ones making a racket.

Could you just not have word ? I had noisy neighbours just popped round to ask if they could turn the music down please, no problem. Seems like what I have read this is not an option . Saying that could you report them anonymously ? If you do go round & nothing is done then report them, could be worse. Have you a trusted family member or friend who could report them anonymous, not mentioning you at all when they report it ... although this person should not mention it to anyone what they have done or doing ... just a thought & idea Then no come back on you as such , don't have to be nasty just staying about the loud music. All the best as I know it can upset you , also can make you ill aswell

I mean write a letter to the neighbour, not to the council. I know I could approach them but I just don't want to sound fussy especially as it isn't happening every night. I have social anxiety as it is so the thought of having to talk to them scares the life out of me if I'm honest.

The council will have a team who investigate sound complaints. You can give the information anonymously I believe. We had the same problem and the council sent someone around to deal with the problem.

Thankfully they actually turned off the music just before 11. I honestly had a bad feeling it would go on until early hours of the morning. I know you can make noise between 7am - 11pm but blaring loud music for the whole street to hear, surely classed as antisocial regardless of what time it is? I don't know but just glad I was able to go sleep earlier than last week.

There are laws governing how loud and when people can make a lot of noise that disturbs the neighbours, whether music, DIY, or any kind of noise that disturbs the neighbours.

Every local council will have a noise abatement team. keep a doary for a week or two of when the music is played, when itstarts and when it finishes and then report it. The Council is obliged to do something unde it

How well do you know your other neighbours? Talk to them and find out whether they are annoyed by this too.

I would not hesitate to ask these inconsiderate people to turn it down after 11 p.m especially, but I don't live in the UK and here it is a disturbance of the peace to play loud music after 9.pm or use power tools late at night or before normal working hours, and we don't have to mention these things when try to sell our properties either.

In no circumstances should you write an anonymous letter to them - no-one can be expected to take any notice of an unsigned letter.

Explain politely either in a signed letter, or when you see them and they are sober that you have to get up early on week-day mornings and their loud music at night is disturbing you.
