Oh I’m sorry, I leapt to conclusions and thought the thread was about Oxfam’s language guide thingy which the Daily Mail has itself gleefully leapt upon today.

I haven’t seen the ad.
Not a good day for Oxfam then.

I was dreading this thread!

Perhaps The Daily Mail should have put something more worthy on its front page.

It’s guidance for people who work at Oxfam, so it’s irrelevant to the wider populace.

But having said that, it probably is a waste of money.
I’ve been thinking of cancelling my monthly donation for a while - this may be the prompt to do so.
Will other donors think the same?

I’m just sick of ‘none news’ dominating public discourse, while the country is doing it’s very best to fall to bits.

(Feel free to insert any of the following: -
dead cat; dog whistle; red meat; rabbit hole etc.

What is it with animal based metaphors? 🤔 )

I saw one of Oxfam’s head honchos interviewed on the news this morning, I found it cringe worthy.

I couldnt care less about their adverts, I dont give money to them because of the incidents of sexual abuse and exploitation against vulnerable people by their staff.

I wonder how many thousands were spent producing the latest revolting, virtue signalling ad that could have been spent helping children.
