Enjoy your good health - do all the travel you want to and can afford to. Happy travelling 🧳 🚌 ✈️

Go for it. Put insurance in place and do what your instincts are saying. It seems to me we tend to regret the things we didn’t do, not the ones we did.

Go for it while you are in good health! I made my last trip abroad (Venice) 5 years ago when I was 73 - however I did book special assistance at the airline to save on queuing.

Venice is not a city for the mobility impaired and I couldnt do some of the things I wanted but Im glad I saw that wonderful city for the last time.

You're very lucky to be in good health at 75, make the most of it. Go and have a ball..

Life is short and you will always regret it if you don’t do it. Go for it.

Am so sorry Marydoll but well done for having some fun despite your restrictions. I hope you have a good time.

Life can change overnight quite unexpectedly in unpredictable ways, especially as we age, so best to live the best life whilst we are able.

People will always find reasons "not to do something" so just go ahead and do it and have a wonderful time.

Yes, make sure you are insured, and repatriation.

Iam64 Sun 07-May-23 20:17:38

We never know what tomorrow brings. Get insurances and go for it

Go, have a lovely time and take lots of photos.

Fleurpepper Sun 07-May-23 20:17:03

Marydoll thanks for clarifying. And yes, in such cases as yours, before Brexit travelling to Europe would not have been a huge issue.

Due to Insurance issues, we are limited to Europe- but we have come to terms with not going to other side of the world again- so so much to discover in Europe still, and even by train. Take care.

Please go, as long as you’re in good health what’s stopping you?

Marydoll Sun 07-May-23 20:11:30

Perhaps I overstated that FP. I only go to places, usually no more than two hours travelling time from home, self catering, so that I can retreat to bed if necessary and obviously within striking distance of medical care.

One day I was teaching, the following day I was told at a hospital appointment, that I would never work again. No time to prepare for that stage in my life. That is why you should never put things off, go for it now.

No-one will insure me, so I have to find alternatives to travelling to all the European countries, which we had planned to visit. In fact I'm off on Tuesday to the East Neuk of Fife for a few days, I can't wait!

Marydoll

Oh go for it!

I had so many plans, but ill health came out of the blue. No more travelling for me.
Carpe diem!

so sorry to hear Marydoll- but making the point so vividly.

Do what’s going to make you happy!

Antonia Sun 07-May-23 19:43:29

Gosh, no, you're not too old! Enjoy your travels.

maddyone Sun 07-May-23 19:36:39

Absolutely not too old. Go ahead and do it.

No but

How does these short term plans fit into the long term?

What if the granny flat does not work? What if you need a higher level of care?

what if ... life is for living to the full- and when you finally have the time and money to travel, just go for it smile

Norah Sun 07-May-23 19:18:56

No, you are not to old to travel.

We're fast up on 80, still travelling. No intention to stop.

VioletSky Sun 07-May-23 19:18:12

Go you! Have an absolutely fantastic adventure!

Being in excellent health, I want to sell my house [I'm putting money into getting granny flat at my daughter's house]
I would love to travel and visit friends and family.
I also want to do a fundraising walk for Cancer Research
