Sago how I agree about the condiment situation. Why oh why do restaurants/pubs do this. They know people are going to ask for ketchup with chips, horseradish with roast beef, apple sauce with pork etc. Yet the server always looks vaguely surprised when you request it and then disappears long enough to make the stuff, only to return when your food has gone cold or been eaten.
Surely they could have some already dispensed into ramekins ready for the servers to grab especially if they are serving, for example, roast beef on a Sunday lunchtime. They know the majority of people will ask for it!
We always had all the matching condiments with food when I was a child and it really spoils the meal if I have to eat it without.
Retirement is it what you thought it would be?
