Car stereos blaring out!

That stupid nineties style hardcore rave music with no vocals, just a monontous bass driven beat, really gets on my nerves if it's played early in the morning or late at night. I wonder if each generation of boy racers passes down the same CD to the next as no one else listens to this rubbish music.

Music coming from passing cars is only for a matter of seconds, and I like to hear other music lovers tastes, especially if it is as good as mine 😆

One in a traffic queue near us yesterday, it was early morning, our windows were up and so were his but the music was blasting out!

House next door was rented out to a young couple, they would come in at silly o’clock & wake me up with their house music (like dancing to a car alarm), ended up picking up Gregorian monks chanting CD from a charity shop, placed my speaker next to their bedroom wall (7ish) when I knew they would be sleeping & pissed off to work 🤣 A little sheepish & quieter after a few days of this ha

I too like rock music & play it loud but only when I am driving around country side.. once got a nasty glare off a cop in a car because I never heard his siren so I didn’t pull over- lesson learnt! No loud music around town. I wouldn’t dream of playing loud music outside someone else’s property. Had ten years of the gas’s chap across the road, he would turn on his diesel engine, crank up his radio & then go into the house to have breakfast, 6.45am every morning & night, radio blaring whilst he wrote up his reports- he’s now retired & it’s heaven 😊

But as we say, the world would be a very boring place if we all thought/drove/dressed the same.

Oh dear!

It's a pity how the tone of this thread was changed by some of
the personal comments, Aveline, which were directed at GSM.
I really can't understand why someone would go out of their way to target another Gransnetter, simply because they drive a certain brand of car and then continue to do so.--

Seems to happen a lot, I have experienced it and the people who do it know who they are.

We have a powerful car and a very powerful motorbike (which is the preferred mode of transport) and personally I love the quiet whistle when you glide past other vehicles.

Thanks icanhandthemback. I see no point in responding to one insult with another. I have had to deal with many unpleasant and aggressive people over the years and if they want a fight, they are disappointed. There are ways of getting your point across without being confrontational, and there is satisfaction in leaving the other party frustrated because you have not risen to the bait/stooped to their level.

Whilst I did raise one eyebrow at your first post GSM, I think you have handled the reaction beautifully. I'm not a sports car type person and in an ideal world would much prefer a huge, modified pick up with all the bells and whistles. Mind you, my favourite car ever was a jacked up Ford Capri so I might have a bit of sportiness in me.

I understand that sentiment. I love bright colours even where my hair is concerned but especially in what I wear. Nobody could ever call me a conventional old lady and I know I raise a few eyebrows myself but as long as I am happy, I don't embarrass my family too much, who am I harming? The same with loud music. I know I am not a nuisance to others because I have to get out of the car to press the code on the gates and I can barely hear it outside the car. If I choose to drive safely with a wall of sound, I can't see why anyone else should be bothered.

Marydoll I love an album called Raindance for long trips on motorways its Native American music and has great beats,best played loud though.It raises my spirits from the first note ...lol

The colour is fab Marydoll my OH has classic cars,.not VINTAGE cars, that are around 40 years old,his latest buy is a 30 year old car in exactly that colour and its a wee beauty.My son has the same hobby and he has a mark one cabriolet Golf in a very similar colour ,OH's MK1 golf is kitted out for rallying and its BRIGHT yellow .They dont get driven often,taken to shows over the season but they do turn heads.
I never understood why anyone would drive around in a nondesrcript bland colour.
Life is Grey enough here so a bright colour That makes me smile is my choice everytime.I'm not getting at anyone GSM OH's cars and there are a few mostly have exhausts we can hear from a mile away.these cars were built to be that way.With a bright colour I can find them in a crowded car park,so thats a win win
For goodness sake ladies why so narrow in your views,if GSM or anyone else wants to drive a car that brings her joy leave her be.Oh and by the way at 70 my hearing is just fine and I've always had LOUD music since my dad used to wake us up with Opera and open windows as a very young child...I still have the open windows too.
