Not cold in N Suffolk, just grey and miserable. Perfect weather for the weeds to grow angry.

Mid Norfolk here and have had heating on most days, wind and rain.
Another damp day today.

Sorry, that 'between' slipped in there somehow.

Cabowich Mon 03-Jun-24 19:53:04

We've had one nice week here in the North West so far this year. Apart from that it's been between either dull, cold, windy, rainy, or all four together. Dreadful weather.

petra

I can attest to that, im in Southend. My partner absolutely loves the heat, but: we have been laying a new deck ( and all that’s involved in that) just yesterday he had to stop and come in at 2 in the afternoon.
This hasn’t been every day recently but a lot of days have been exceedingly hot.

I’m just up the road from you too. I don’t feel the cold so sometimes I’m short sleeves when everyone else has a sweater.

Here in Essex it’s been wet wet wet and wetter, grey and dull, but fairly warm.

MissAdventure Mon 03-Jun-24 19:42:19

I'm just down the road from GrannyGravy and I've been cold enough to have the heating on, several times.
Not one warm enough day here, and I usually enjoy cooler weather.

I’ve been in Spain for the best part April and May and since returning have only just changed to summer silk duvet and Egyptian cotton after a whole six months of wool duvet and flannelette bed linen!

This would normally happen beginning of May so summat’s not right….

Sallywally1 Mon 03-Jun-24 19:14:38

It’s been the cold north wind which has really got me down and really made me feel quite depressed which sounds so trivial when there are people with real problems and clinical depression out there.

M0nica Mon 03-Jun-24 18:14:58

I think the Met office says this, not because we have had lots of warm weather but because we have had no really cold weather; very few frosts, no snow, so the lack of low temperatures balances against the equally missing higher temperatures.

Parsley3 Mon 03-Jun-24 17:15:17

I am in Central Scotland and the last few days have been unusually glorious. However, the forecast for the coming week is for snow on high ground. My poor wee plants are on for a beating.

GrannyGravy13 Mon 03-Jun-24 17:03:12

petra I am just up the road from you, we had to shut the French doors yesterday afternoon as it became chilly.

Still have winter duvet on, and the hearing came on Friday as it was bloomin freezing…

Germanshepherdsmum Mon 03-Jun-24 17:01:30

It’s been very chilly in north Norfolk. A lovely day yesterday, back to wearing my jacket for gardening today. And apparently more wind and rain tomorrow.

Going by GN alone, I too would say parallel universe.

Harris27 Mon 03-Jun-24 16:45:13

You need to live in the north east we don’t get summer just lighter days,

Sallywally1 Mon 03-Jun-24 16:39:58

Apparently the met office say we have had the hottest spring since records began. Do they live in a parallel universe? I have been so, so cold these last couple of months. I live in london and there has been a permanent black cloud which won’t shift, apart from yesterday! Hurry up summer! We’ve even had the heating on once or twice which was unheard of for us in April/may! And it has rained and rained.
