Tories betting on the election date

Is anyone surprised that some of the Tory top brass have corruptly placed bets on the election date, undoubtedly based on their insider knowledge.
Perhaps they are trying to make a bit of money as it is likely that they will be out of work in a couple of weeks.

I wouldn't describe the gamblers as Tory top brass, but middling-placed administration officials with access to inside information denied to MPs and their constituencies. The prospective candidate for Bristol is married to one of these officials.
Shameful, none the less.
