My almost 18yr old GDx1 who has just gone off on an inter - railing trip asked me to get her some concert tickets .
Which was / should have been no problem as I am the guru / go to person of concert ticket buying in our family .
This was a presale with general release being Friday .
Well , if I tell you the name and the person & you say never heard of her /they/them it wouldn’t be a surprise as it’s a rare thing to know of any of the current artists. She is a 24yr old American singer . ‘ Gracie Abram’s’
Which makes it even more amazing , bizarre little known ( by the masses anyway ) singers being sell outs at huge venues !
I cannot believe that even with presale I COULD NOT get tickets , I sat in a queue of 3,000 plus at the starting point , twice I got to “ Now it’s your turn “ which resulted in zilch , de nada 👎🏻
Again later in the day I tried with the same result . I believe the tickets are launched in batches . I may of been more successful if said GD had asked me prior to 9:45am on the morning they went on presale plus I was away from home & sat outside a cafe nursing my coffee .
It may be that this young singer has the same appeal as Taylor Swift , whose sell out tour is something of a phenomenon.
My GD & her 11yr old Sister are going to a ‘ Swiftie’ concert 🎵 at Wembley next month .
So , I’ll be trying again tomorrow wish me luck !

They have changed the way tickets for big venues are sold. It is to prevent the mark-up on ticket touts selling illegally.
The system is now that the initial tickets are sold at a very high price- this is to prevent bulk buying.
The price is then lowered as time goes on until they become very cheap indeed if enough haven't been sold.
The risk is that if you wait too long you may miss out on getting a ticket at all but I've known some major name tickets going for very little at the end. It all depends on what people are prepared to pay, or can pay.
So if this isn't a really big name then you maybe better off waiting even longer.
Another tip- they often save the best seats till later too!

Keepingquiet ,
I’m well versed in ticket buying & how it has changed over time . After buying tickets for a major concert 🎵 nov 23 at a nominal fee for an event July 24 the ticket prices dropped a month before & they were available at less than half price .
However , my post isn’t so much about the cost but about the fact of little known artists being sell outs at large venues !
The o2 is not a small venue & this person is headlining not a support act . At this point in time I have no idea how much the tickets will be . What astounds me is the rate at which they were being snapped up .
Buying Rolling Stones tickets a few years ago was much easier 🤣

Maybe she is little known to you but not to the younger generation.

I have heard of her. And she's no Taylor Swift.

How much are Gracie Abrams tickets in the UK?
It's been confirmed that they're priced at £47.10 – £69.80 for the UK shows and from €50,40 for the European dates.
