Anyone else find APPS the most annoying thing ever. When I do go to open an App it needs updating so have to wait for ever to update and open. I really fail to see the benefit of these Apps so try and avoid. Is it just me.

Are you using apps on your phone or tablet?

I use many apps. I tend to avoid using them unless I have (parking apps mainly or maps) using mobile data. Also always make sure your apps are properly closed, having apps left open does slow up your device and those apps.

PS I live my apps!

All I can suggest is using your settings check your storage and that all your apps are closed.

I've culled my apps to the ones I absolutely need and the ones that are actually useful. (Not very many!)

And yes, I have a couple that need to update every single time I use them.

On your phone go to setting >App Store & make sure “automatic updates” is switched on. You then won’t need to wait for apps to update every time you use them. Also as others have said - delete apps you don’t use. There are some very useful apps out there so don’t throw out the baby with the bath water!

I don’t have many apps on my phone and definitely not banking apps. I have bus and train apps, Waze and a weather app. I prefer the physical loyalty cards to the phone versions. I have more apps on my iPad including banking apps which I only use at home.

I only have what I need but I do go through my tablet and phone every now and then just having a clean up, deleting what I don't need, getting rid of cookies, closing tabs, etc.

I'm an app lover as well.

Some apps will only run on phones and others only on tablets. I have an extra account with one of those "alternative" online banks and it will only run properly on the tablet. However I much prefer the Pinterest app to using the online version on my PC. Its much faster.

I need a banking app for 2 step authentication which increases security on your phone, smart watch, tablet or laptop. The only other apps I use are for weather, music and banking.

I was using apps, under duress, and would probs have installed more but can’t remember my Apple ID and is such a performance to get another one. Thing is I wrote my password on the back if an old greetings card in my odds and sods drawer and used to work like a treat, but when I try to use it now it says invalid password. Do they make a rule of changing passwords every few years or something after which your password becomes defunct??
In any case as you can probs tell I don’t find apps easy or fun.

Good morning everyone!

I hear what you're saying! I have a mobile and a laptop but no tablets etc. and I find apps a bit pesty! All the updating and other stuff so I just use apps when needed.

I've got a couple on that I loaded myself but all others are pre-programmed!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one driven mad by this obsession with apps. What the hell is wrong with the good old-fasioned website?

My iPad updates automatically, my iPhone just flags when a number of updates are ready and I let it get on with it while I use it for something else., like ringing someone. The apps I use run on both pieces of hardware, not a problem, I find Apps useful.
