Perhaps I'm prudish but I've now got used to seeing women on TV showing low cleavage no matter the weather or occasion.
However I was surprised this morning to see an older plumpish MP being interviewed on Sky news with a revealing dress. Why? It's breakfast time on a chilly morning. I don't know anyone who does this. Even my daughter and dils wear a little camisole under their glamorous outfits.

I once used to long for a cleavage, but only acquired one once I was well past wanting to flaunt it. The difference between being a size 10 and a size 14….

A while back I was having lunch out with a large group of ladies. I kept feeling something brushing against my chin.

Between courses I popped to the loo, looked in the mirror whilst washing my hands and was horrified to see several inches of my bra wire poking out the top of my dress!
🤣

That depends on the reason you are flaunting it. In the tech industry it would be I appropriate and so would men with shirts unbuttoned to their belts. Some men could flaunt that but it's not appropriate in all situations.

If you've got it, flaunt it!

Clothing that fits is a good thing in most situations. Just think of a plumbers cleavage. You like that flaunted too? I must be old fashioned because I was taught that business dress, evening attire and longewear were different outfits.

Sour grapes, come to mind!

If my cleavage was worth looking at, I would happily display it, but it ain't, so I don't!

You must be quite unodservant not to notice other people. Without any judgement this morning in the coffee shop a woman squeezed into the space beside us. As she turned we were presented with an Enormous rear end nearly on our table. Nothing was said but my friend gave me one of those looks.Leggings too.

I had to laugh 😂

Well I see my “rude” response was deleted, but the original comment (with poor grammar) is still there!

Rather double standards methinks!

I’ll reiterate, I do not judge ANYONE for how they look, how much they weigh nor what they wear!

Poor grammar doesn’t matter on a forum and it isn’t done to point it out usually.

I think we all do judge how people look for various reasons, either consciously or unconsciously.

I am 40FF and whilst nothing minimises them, I do wear round necks because I feel smarter like that.

To each HER own I say.

Linda Lusardi was in my class at school.
She was discovered standing at the local bus stop. Her attributes made her far more famous rich than my stuffy A levels, and subsequent degree. I'm still waiting to be noticed! 👙 Bosoms, bum, whatever.
Good on her, if you've got it, flaunt it!

eazybee Thu 03-Oct-24 15:45:35

I was walking through a carpark this morning with a rather austere elderly gentleman when a young maiden,, or even wench, headed towards us, wearing a tight fitting jumper over her large bosom and clearly without a bra. She walked past us, bouncing up and down; he caught my eye and to my surprise we both dissolved into howls of laughter.

I like big bums!
Nothing worse than seeing a scraggy little arse in gym pants with the word "juicy" emblazoned on them, in my opinion.

😂😂😂😂

Reading on I see big bottoms, as well as big bosoms, are to be frowned upon!

No hope for me then

I think plump people should cover up. No one want to see there bodies.

Wow! Ok then, I'll just crawl off into some cave and hide there until I shuffle off this mortal coil.

Don't take any snacks in with you. You don't want to get stuck trying to get out.

PS. I know you can take a joke. Seriously, I think this thread is offensive. I hardly ever notice what anybody is wearing or whether they have flabby arms or overspilling boobs. I do notice when people of all shapes look chic and wonder how they achieve the look (and why I never do :-( ).

Haha yes, I can take a joke! I'm now consoling myself with a coffee and a KitKat, so I'll definitely be getting stuck now! grin

Oreo Thu 03-Oct-24 14:19:34

Time and place for cleavage as many other posters say.

TerriBull Thu 03-Oct-24 13:34:17

Having significant boobs, the one thing I took from the Trinny and Susannah's programme, was don't go for necklines that are right up just below the chin, either v neck, lower circular neck so what suits one shape doesn'tsuit another. Hence quite often the cleavage so there you are! If I could have a non surgical shrinking procedure, I'd have it in a heartbeat.

Yes, I probably am quite unobservant. Maybe I do notice people, but it just doesn't register. The only thing I do notice is that when my partner occasionally takes me to a carvery for Sunday lunch that the majority of people seem overweight and I'm fascinated by high their plates are piled.

BrandyGran Thu 03-Oct-24 13:24:08

I agree with Kircubbin. There seems to be a fashion for low cut dresses showing cleavage. I’m surprised sometimes to see weather girls wearing what I would term cocktail dresses to inform us of what the day holds for us , in the mornings. Of course to each their own but I think a well cut shirt style top and jeans - a casual look would be more appropriate. Another fashion on tv is wearing your hair long and curling down over your shoulders- again a look which looks more attractive on younger women.

I think most women on tv or in the media know what gets attention very well.
They use that knowledge to influence their choice of clothing.

Very little on tv is left to chance, with perhaps the exception of Judy Finnigan's dress malfunction.
Who knows though, maybe even that was a planned mishap?

If you’ve got it flaunt it, but it says a lot more about your personality than your body, I guess you do it to attract attention so don’t complain if it’s the wrong kind of attention.
