The other day I asked my just-3yo-GS if he liked my new jumper.

’NO’ came the answer. No room for discussion there! grin

Later on, he did come over and say ‘I like your jumper really.’ tchgrin

I had a new summer dress which was quite bright and stripy , my grandson said " Grandma you look like an ambulance "

Over the years as an early years teacher I thought I had heard everything. One day reading the three pigs book a little boy called ‘ the b*****d after the wolf blew the house down!

Struggling up the hill pushing a pram containing baby son with week's shopping in tray underneath with 3 year old trailing behind... Chop chop! sez I. "I AM chopping!!!"...was the very grumpy response

My daughter came out of playgroup singing
‘Poor Jenny is weakling, ‘
‘.

My two and a half year old loves dogs so was surprised when he said he doesn’t like them, when I asked why he said ‘the doggy over there (next door) keeps shouting at me’,
Next doors dog does bark a lot.
😂

Grandmabatty I recall several years ago on Mumsnet a mum posted about how she had taken her son to a church playgroup. (The church part is relevant.) Her son found some Thomas the Tank Engine toys in a toy box. Sadly, he couldn't find the one he wanted so he started having a tantrum. He was yelling that he wanted the fat controller but it sounded as if he was yelling, "I want the f***ing troll!" The mum was MORTIFIED. (There is something to be said for the fact that here in North America the fat controller is known as Sir Toppumhat!)

When my son was very small, he loved Thomas the tank engine but he struggled with some words. The fat controller ran together and he would plaintively call for the fuckontroller. Lots of explanations required!

My DG had a slight speech impediment and couldn’t say Playdoh. When asked by her teacher what she had done at the weekend she replied that she had been playing with ‘pee-doh’. Fortunately the teacher understood what she was trying to say though her parents were mortified when the teacher told them 😂

My daughter picked her 4 year son up from school yesterday , his teacher came out trying not to laugh, she told my daughter that they asked the children what they would like for Christmas my grandson said he would like a bike and a self cleaning toilet! words fail me goodness knows how he dreamt up that .
