Surely it can't be beyond their ability, when windsurfers load up their cars with the necessary equipment for the day to have a windshield or something that can be put up while they change and then folded and put back on the car or somewhere safe, and then used again when they need to dress? Ladies walking alone, or with their children , grandchildren or dogs should not be made to feel uncomfortable. It would not be considered acceptable for people to shop naked in the town centre so surely the same rules apply? Personally, I would avoid confronting naked people but would be a bit annoyed if I could not enjoy walking on the beach on a fine day in case someone decides to be naked, especially if I had grandchildren with me. When I first read the letter I thought "Oh I don't care either way", but on reflection, actually I do. Would it add much to the rates to have a designated changing area? Apparently there are nudist beaches in Britain if there are some with surfing abilities that would solve the issue. Some people make a big fuss about dogs being allowed on beaches. I love to see dogs enjoying beaches and would much prefer to see dogs than naked people.

Who is talking about naked people for goodness sake, we are talking about people discreetly changing. Dogs doing their business on a beach does not even come close to this issue. You might love seeing them there, but the average person, I would guess, prefers them not to be anywhere near where they are sitting and perhaps even having a picnic.

We've all got bodies. God gave them to us. As long as they're not being sexual towards the family I don't know what the problem is.

Can’t believe there are any children who are unaware of what the human body looks like. Surely visits to museums etc have statues and paintings containing nudes.

What is it with people? they move into an area and then complain! It happens in this village a lot. They should do their home work before they move.

David49 You would struggle a bit to get the wet suit on over any clothing. They are made to be extremely tight to keep you warm. If it is not a bit of a struggle to get it on, then it is too big. I wear knickers under mine but nothing else.

I rather thought surfers wore swimsuits under the wet suits, I suppose they have to dry themselves when they go home, I dont see a problem if they are discrete and not making an exhibition of it.

New brooms sweep clean sort of thing. They are trying to make their mark, and telling you what loose morals you have. I would not sign. If they have children, they can jolly well turn them around or cover their eyes, while the surfers change. They will eventually get used to it.

That reminds me of the family that moved from the city and bought a house into the village where I used to live. After two or three mornings the the mother and father approched the nearest farmer to complain that his cows were making 'too much noise'.

We have been looking for a property for some time and do a rigorous research of the area in which a house/bungalow is if we like the property. Crystal Roof do a good online breakdown of the area with regard to the type of neighbours you might have, especially with regard to crime rates. We also look at flood risk online and would not even think about living near a busy road, on a steep hill, or near pubs/restaurants or schools.
The onus is on the buyer to do their homework or adapt to their new neighbourhood rather than expecting the neighbourhood to adapt to them.

Nope, doesn't bother me in the slightest. Part of my family live in a place with a vibrant surf community, so everywhere you look are surfers.

So no, i wouldn't sign their petition. I'm with madeleine45 inasmuch as i would be tempted to start a 'Support our Surfers' movement.

Makes you wonder if they are, as others have said, standing watching/looking. They sound like the problem, not the surfers.

No it wouldn't offend me, after all it's only part of the year. So much of this goes on I think they call it being a nimby like when someone moves next to a church and they want the bells to stop on a Sunday morning just because they have moved in.
