Like people who move to the country and complain about the muck, or move next to a church and moan about the bells. Just don't look, or look and admire their courage to go out on the sea when it's bl#£dy freezing!

You could not make it up ! We live in N. Cornwall , surfers here as soon as their phone pings"wave " are off . I love it as I taught my son to surf and now so pleased I did.

Would much rather live near the seaside where surfers are getting changed, than in a run down inner city area where drug dealers are at large.
People really need to check their privilege and get things in perspective.

It's recommended to wear a swimsuit under a wetsuit. It helps avoid chafing (ouch!).
Using a towelling robe afterwards solves the problem of changing.

If anyone is flagrantly flaunting themselves in full view of the public they have a problem.

I remember some time ago reading about some people who moved to the country next to a farm. The farmer used the closest field to them to keep rescued horses. Not long after they moved in they complained about the horses because the farmer had taken on two extra ones.

No matter how hard I try I can't imagine complaining about half a dozen horses in a field.

It depends doesn’t it? If they’re literally stripping off everything to get dry afterwards then I would complain, especially if I had kids but if not and undies stay on that’s fine by me.

So what is the situation regarding the police starting the petition, surfingsal?

I have spoken to my other neighbours and no one has signed the petition, we don't have a Police station , the nearest is 10 miles away and is closed at night and at the weekends so the next police station is over 25miles away and I don't believe they have actually been contacted , the council are aware of the situation as there was talk of building some changing rooms on the top of the beach but there was no suitable place . It just made me laugh that no locals are bothered but the Newbys also seem to have a problem with something , years ago my brother in law had a holiday home he rented out and the lodgers complained that the sand was the wrong sort of sand !

When we were farming a couple new to the village complained to the council about us combining during dry weather because it created dust. The couple said we should wait until it was raining.

Wouldn't bother me really if it's all fairly discreet. You'd probably see as much flesh in most shopping centres these days in the Summer.

I used to have to clamber in and out of wet or dry suits on beaches or in car parks now and again when I was scuba diving, and I'm pretty sure I probably exposed a bit more flesh than I intended to at times.

Good point HPQueen - I wonder how they’ll feel about the street being clogged up in the Summer. No where to park within a mile of the sea….

I hate this, newbies imposing their sensibilities on an established and tolerant community. We had a very ugly episode on the village when someone moved in to a house directly opposite the primary school then waged a campaign against parents parking. Another elderly couple moved in, lovely house overlooking the playing fields then demanded that the parish council control the noise of whistles and shouts from the football matches at the weekend!

In the 1970s a young couple moved to a small village near us, deep in the Derbyshire countryside, and objected to finding horse muck on the lanes. It was pointed out to them that horse riding on country lanes was one of the beauties of living in the countryside. And to get out their shovels before everyone else did!

It wouldnt bother me if as you say, they try to be discreet.

But I do know of a safeguarding issue around children, in this matter.

I'd try not to meet the new neighbours if I could avoid them. It would be interesting to note who else on your road refused to sign.
