Would this offend you?

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.

These type of neighbours can cause far more harm and disruption to a neighbourhood than any surfers could.

Easily offended, serial complainers who encourage others to do likewise!

Wouldn't bother me. I did it several times myself in a side street near a well know Wind sailing beach in the south of England needless to say I was much younger.

We used to have a guy called the Naked Rambler who would wander all over Scotland completely naked apart from his hiking boots and rucksack! I remember once being on a beach up in the north-east and seeing him walking along the clifftop. Did a double take at first, because I couldn't believe my eyes.

ViceVersa - I remember him - who wouldn't, but I wonder how he ended up. As I recall, the police kept arresting him but he kept on rambling, naked!

I remember him, it wasn't just Scotland where he rambled.

He was wandering near children's play parks and was jailed for a breach of the peace 🤔

They should really have done their homework before buying the property so close to a surfing beach!

Why don't they provide a changing facility themselves? Set up a cubicle and charge a couple of quid for the service?

It seems very petty to me. Life by the sea isn't always the dream people think it is!

Wouldn’t bother me, and am sure most try to hold a towel over their bits. Whenever we visit the beach on a nice day there are people changing out of their clothes into a swimming cossy, and there are children about then, sometimes towels slip and when abroad women go topless but have never thought of this as a problem.

Very petty. People seem to complain about anything these days. Someone moved next door to our church and complained about the church bells!

Some new arrivals near where friends lived in N Devon, fairly near the coast, wrote to their local paper complaining bitterly about the noise of air/sea rescue training flights at night.

The furious response from so many locals was such that apparently they upped and moved on soon afterwards!

Oh dear -there's always people who complain about something .
Don't sign if you don't want to .
I wouldn't .

I always was agog at the defense of the naked rambler, it was very obvious there were a range of issues going on there.

From Wiki - Stephen Peter Gough (born 13 May 1959), popularly known as the "Naked Rambler", is a British pro-nudity activist and former Royal Marine. In 2003 and 2004, he walked the length of Great Britain naked, but was arrested when he did it again in 2005 and 2006. Since then, he has spent most of the intervening years in prison, having been repeatedly rearrested for contempt of court for public nudity and imprisoned.[2] He has been convicted of public order offences at least 40 times. Gough brought a lawsuit in the European Court for Human Rights, arguing that laws requiring him to wear clothing violated his rights to privacy and free expression. His claim was rejected in 2014.

I guess he is still in and out of prison, in no way was he being discreet!

The naked rambler was arrested on several occasions. However, not sure that complaining about people changing to go on the beach is something the police would get involved in as it is not against the law provided no one is intentionally showing their gear. It would be more for councils to provide changing places.
Perhaps this family objections are based on their religion.

Petty. Because if it was really obscene then local people would have spoken up already.

Oh, I remember the Naked Rambler. I wonder what happened to him. Did the new neighbours ask around before launching into a complaint?

How ridiculous, they need to move or shut up.

Is this a particularly 'British' thing? On the continent they would just strip off. Naked Rambler must have been 'mental', or else weather and midge proof.

Common sight in Brighton and Hove too, and not a problem. What a pity your new neighbours are regretting their move.

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest. Some folks though are a bit strange about nudity! But it’s not as if they parading around, up and down the street, showing all their bits!

No it would not offend me. I think it is pervy that they must be watching!

I was going to mention those people who move into a village near a church then try to get the church bell ringing stopped!

It's a beach for heavens sake... these neighbours are not going to be popular

It wouldn't bother me in the slightest. Honestly, I've got far more important things to worry about. Live and let live, I say.

Not a problem if they are discreet. Would hate a willie parade.

And as someone commented - no one is forcing the complainers to look!

Maybe the new family have children or grandchildren and don’t want to see people changing in public. Maybe when they bought the house they didn’t realised this happened. To be fair I probably wouldn’t. It sounds inappropriate to me and proper changing facilities should be provided or the surfers kept to one discrete area. It will be interesting to see how many signatures the petition gets.

Why would it be so awful if the DCs or GCs saw people changing in public?

When I lived in Brighton, I didn't deliberately take my children to the nudist beach but we walked past it several times without the children being disturbed by it. I asked DD about it recently and she can barely remember seeing it.

I never worried about my DCs seeing naked bodies, I was far more worried about the amount of onscreen violence and death they were exposed to.

I wouldn't sign.
