Winter Heating Allowance

Has anyone else had a request from DWP, saying that they have either not submitted an application for 2024-2025 Winter Heating Allowance or the information provided was incomplete or incorrect ?
You are told that application has to be completed by 2nd August. Failure to apply by this date will result in loss of eligibility for the allowance.You are given a link to be activated , then close and reopen .
I went into the link given using my laptop . It takes you to the
H.M> pensions and I easily found that you do not need to apply.
The site seems valid, but I didn't feel happy about completing the request
Do you think it is a nasty scam?. I did .

There is a scam going round asking for details in order to receive the WFA.

I am not aware that you have to apply for it.

Hope this doesn’t sound too blunt westendgirl but this has been reported and discussed several times here on GN. Sadly, it’s a very common scam.
Thankfully, I’m hoping at least 95% of us now know we don’t need to apply for it. I suppose there’ll always be the odd one caught out though.

Please, please do nothing. You will receive the WFA automatically either November or December.

Ignore everything else.

I deleted it and posted to raise awareness. . I didn't know it had been up before as I haven''t spent much time on Gransnet .
