Can you believe the ads for weight loss pills?
I nearly did and then I realized that no one looses vast amounts of weight over 3weeks.
AIBU to think it's just all lies and scams?
What is the connection with M&S?
I know M&S has had huge problems with online sales etc but OMG it is still not working well at all. Also the range of goods is not what I am used to but maybe I'm behind the times. The range in all areas seems bizarre. DGD age 8 needs new knickers - only 1 set and not what she would wear. We need a pedestal mat for bathroom - only 1 comes up and not rubber backed which it needs to be to prevent slipping. DD shops in Primark so perhaps I should just go there. Does anyone else find the quality has deteriorated and the website is not working well?

I still love M & S and think they’ve actually improved a lot over the last few years. When I walked through one of the stores last week, there was lots that tempted me to stop and look more closely. I think they’re doing a good job of shedding the “frumpy old lady” image. I may be the latter but hope I’m not the former!
I’ve just checked out the Advent calendar and it has a great selection this year. Now I’ll have to forget what I saw if I want it all to be a surprise.
I must say I wasn’t happy with M & S a couple of years ago when DS2’s fiancé bought her the calendar as a surprise. At full price!! The assistant didn’t tell him how to get it a lot cheaper. They took it back without quibbling, but I did think that was mean.
I haven’t done so before either but for once did.
I’m sure you will be delighted as I always have before but have gone for Boots this year.
Usedtobeblonde I have never read the reviews for the Advent Calendar nor do I go online to see what it contains, I like to be surprised.
I am another who likes M&S still.
I did have a problem ordering when they had the hacking situation but I was rewarded with a gift voucher and my online pass was extended by a few months.
I have decided against the Advent Calendar this year as I read a review in a magazine where the reviewer said that she was underwhelmed by it this year.
I checked the contents online and decided against it but that was personal choice.
I am mostly , well nearly always, happy and just love the food hall.
I rarely go to an M&S but drove to Torquay yesterday specially to visit them. They have a big store just outside town.
I could have bought loads as there were so many things that I liked, but confined myself to a pair of soft warm feeling pyjamas, and an animal print jumper, and a pack of knickers with elastane. Tried them all on when I got home and they are all lovely.

How many threads I wonder?
Certainly they pop up with monotonous regularity.
I BTW have few problems with M&S, just spend too much there!
A poster recommended a M&S perfume which was cheap but really nice on another thread, I was going to make a note of it but didn’t ☹️ so if you read this could you remind me of the name? Thanks.

I’ve often been a bit wary of Hotter, as too ‘grannyish’ but the Murmur boots I bought last year are superbly comfortable, and to me don’t look grannyish at all. Also very pleased with the Robyn shoes, both elegant and smart.
I have a few pairs of the Whisper boots from Hotter which I love and seem to last well, better than Clarkes in fact.
M&S still do some good lines, lingerie and jeans in particular.

I ordered some perfume and their Christmas gift box on line and both arrived within three days. No complaints from me.
Same here, not the perfume.
I ordered Christmas pyjamas on one order to get the Beauty Advent Calendar, on the other I ordered a sweater and jeans for me to get a second one.
(One for me and one for DD)

Last time i was in their cafe, we had paper cups for coffee, and paper plates.
A dishwasher problem? Or part of a much bigger problem?
I was in one of their cafes within a large store last Tuesday.
Delicious food, excellent coffee (yes I am a coffee snob) not a paper plate or cup to be seen.
I suspect on the occasion you visited there was an isolated issue.

M & S have upped their game when it comes to fashion trends.
Their range of wide legged trousers and jeans are good, they have also got many sweaters and skirts of varying lengths and styles (featured in magazines) which look good in store.
I only buy sets of underwear never packs of pants, and find them lacy and pretty.
Their gym clothes are excellent, wash and wear very well.
The issue I’ve had with M&S for years is the poor fit. Their own clothes seem very odd these days and not at all flattering. Perhaps it’s just me…..

Look on-line! That's what I got when I last went looking for something in M&S.
I don't do on-line shopping because I could see what was coming down the line a decade ago.
I agree with whoever said Next was better- so I'm shouting out for Next who will check if something you want is in stock if your size/colour isn't on the rail.
Also a bigger sgout out to charity shops- got a beautiful cashmere and wool Windsmoor winter coat a few weeks ago, beautiful silk lining looked like it had never been worn. £8! Win win ker-chiiiing!
Yes Next seem to have the level of service that M&S used to be proud of. My new M&S is dark and dingy, and first try to find an assistant that can help (yes they are pleasant when you do, but "not my department" is frequent.
Their fashions often seem quite odd, being neither for young folks or classic enough for older.
I used to buy my quality staples there, but when their non-iron t-shirts and his polos turned to crumpled rags in the washer, that started the decline.
I am not particularly tall at 5ft 6, but it seems that their classic lines are still aimed at my mother's generation of 5 to 5ft 2, and as to trousers, they never seem to cater for a 32 inside leg with their "long" being for the 6ft ladies
And I am not particularly well blessed, but all their D cups seem to be minimisers - no thank you. And don't get me started on their knickers or night wear (yes, obviously I am a granny, but even my own pre-central heating gran would not have been seen dead in their passion killer ranges)
I’ve also got those Murmur boots and they’re very comfortable. Mine are black suede.

Every single thing I liked on the M&S website the other day, was out of stock!!
However I recently ordered both jeans and jeggings, both ready to collect in store 48 hours later.

Caleo 😆why, you’re a poet!
Not on account of a simple limerick I'm not! But it's nice of you to notice thanks.
I've been in Tesco this morning and there are a lot of empty shelves, I asked at the till if they'd been hacked as it reminded me of M&S empty shelves when they were attacked.
