Robin202 Weather patterns can look intentional, but the evidence we have points to natural variability and climate change rather than deliberate manipulation
Has anyone seen Mint on BBC 1?
And thick grey skies every day and the cold! It saps any joy. Roll on summer!

Actually if you look at the weather sites, at least here in the south east, the weather is day by day getting drier over the next couple of weeks. There may be rain but not so much of it. 😄
You should try living in Wales......
Check out geo-engineering. Its all by design. The UK govt have invested £50million towards solar geo-engineering to dim the sun. The company carrying this out is called ARIA .
The sky spraying is rife all over the UK and other continents. It has been banned in some US states. Everyone’s talking about it. Many are suffering with headaches, sinus and respiratory issues.
Quite a bit of flooding around here so sorry for people who have lost homes and businesses.
Count our blessings

Is it terrible when you have a dog that needs to go out every day and is perpetually covered in mud. I’ve now got back problems from having to wash him every day and I’m paying out to see a chiropractor so this rain, relentless rain is actually costing me money.
Get a rainproof coat for him, then you just need to clean legs and paws.
I too do not love the frequent rain and mud - but actually when I think that I am safe, have a roof over my head, food in the fridge......can see trees and daffodils........and there are people facing war, homelessness, hunger, grief........I look at it differently. I have been sent this sentence : " There are at least a billion people in the world who would swap their life with yours in a heart beat". I do understand that grey skies can be depressing - I am not immune - but........

We are desperate for rain here in the Midlands in South Africa. Rain would be such a blessing.
It’s not just the rain it’s the bloody grey sky all the time. I’m not a conspiracy nut by any means but it just doesn’t seem normal.
Wish you could send some here. We are having a drought here in Great Brak River and have put a bucket in the shower and use the 'grey water' for my plants but fighting a losing battle. My prized olive trees are looking very unhappy. Oh dear, what can a person do?
SallyWally1 This is what it's been like where I live:
Based on data from the University of Reading, January 2026 was not the wettest January since records began, but it was exceptionally wet and set other records.
Here are the key details for your area as of early February 2026:
Ranking: January 2026 was the fourth-wettest January in almost 120 years of data, with 121 mm of rainfall recorded at the University of Reading.
Previous Records: Only January 1939, 1995, and 2014 were wetter in that 120-year period.
Record-Breaking Spell: While not the highest total, January 2026 set a new record for the longest unbroken spell of daily rain, with 25 consecutive days of rain, beating the previous 1934 and 1970 records.
Context: For the 29 days beginning 6 January, 135 mm of rain fell in the area—more than double the expected amount for that period.

While it was not the absolute wettest in terms of total volume, the relentlessness of the rain made it an historic, standout month for the area.
In one week, where we had rain here every day and no sunshine, my friend in Essex, where I moved from 2.5 years ago, said she had had sunshine and managed to dry her washing outside 3 days that week! Why did I move?!!! (I moved to be near my daughter and her family).
Devon was bright today, just a few showers.
Tomorrow looks like a bumper sunny day. 🌞
I am in the S E, I am looking out onto a dark grey sky with rain in the air roll on spring (meteorological spring starts this Sunday) and summer 🙏🏻
More depressing rain to come, at least in the South East. We’ll be getting webbed feet soon.
Apart from one or two days of sunshine the last two months have been dismal. Grey sky and constant rain.
We had sunshine one day earlier in the week, I was so excited!
Now here we are, back to grey dull weather, with rain all last night!
I’m fed up with the rain, I’ll be more fed up when in the summer the water companies impose a “hosepipe” ban because 1) they’ve not had the foresight to build more reservoirs 2) Use their profits for shareholder bonuses instead of fixing leaks in pipes.
In summary, OP, no, you’re not being unreasonable

Such dismal weather…rain 🌧️ ☔️ , rain and more rain.
My lovely young neighbour (only 54) has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. They are all devastated.
All in all, I feel quite sad 😢
Puts the «problem» of the weather into perspective though doesn’t it?
In Victoria we are really short of rain. Funny old world.
SORES
there is an interesting celestial occurrence
tonight, the planets aligning.
However, despite us being able to view from high ground we would not see anything anyway through dense cloud, so disappointing.
Long range weather forecasts show no weather difference.
Tuesday and Wednesday in Oxford were Springlike and sunny, a brief respite, now
back to casseroles and the heating on.
Brilliant sunshine in Perth today so hoping to see it all.

It's Wales here - need I say more? #sighs
Added thing being - I'm from southern England and that means that often if I take a look out the door that I change my mind about going out. Yep....I still make all the same decisions I used to about going out - followed by a lot of "abort plan....abort...it's Wales here" anyway. So this winter has been a dire one for me...
I've just returned from a week in Morocco, clear blue skies and a the temperature in the upper 20's. It's recharged me somewhat and it's dry here ATM so I feel able to face more rain, if we have it. On the plus side, it's been fairly mild and the garden is springing into life which always makes me feel optimistic.

Excessive precipitation - rain or snow - would seem to have been a feature all over. Dd & co. were skiing in France recently - loads of snow and it snowed virtually all day, every day, plus I’ve read that there’s been a lot of flooding in France. Ditto in Portugal, according to a nephew who lives there, and not long ago in Mallorca.
Plus a Swedish friend I spoke to the other day said it had been snowing all day - again! Snow on snow on snow….
I felt a bit bad saying that it was sunny here - for once….
And America’s eastern areas lately, too. Sister who moved recently from Cape Cod to Tucson is undoubtedly feeling somewhat smug…
