I think all the major supermarkets apart from Aldi have some kind of loyalty card/app.

Farm foods doesn't have a loyalty card, it does have a savings card, which must be a nice little earner for them.

I spent £49, & the young man let me put two £2 vouchers through 😊 I find the staff very friendly too.

Do you know that Tesco and Sainsbury make £300 million between them annually by selling on your DATA.

We always use our club card vouchers for rail cards. Brilliant.

I enjoy my Clubcard discounts but I also use my points with Clubcard reward partners where I get double the value . I have used them towards holidays and railcards etc.

I bought a cheap tv for the kitchen some years ago. Trip to London on the mega bus (gosh never again, it was horrendous), we paid full wack for the train home so didn’t really save a penny 😂

I also carry a physical CC, as I've got to take out my payment card anyway.

I usually have my plastic card for back up but didn’t have my handbag with me 🙄

I don’t think Asda has a Club Card, or do they? Since I moved here, I’ve been shopping there, although I have seen the checkout lady scanning some people’s smartphones - I don’t know what that’s all about 😫

I like their birthday cards £3 for three card. Bought the same card at Clinton’s £3 for one

What do you mean by 'couldn't load up' do you mean on your phone? If so, I've done a screenshot of mine as you can't get a good signal in my local Tesco. I have also added to my phone wallet too.

My local Tesco have signs everywhere saying they do not accept screenshots for CC.

I’d have done without the points if there were goods I needed.

It’s not the points I am after, it’s paying £4 for say butter, rather £6.50.

OP asks why we have to have them. The simple answer is that we don’t “have to”, no customer is obliged to join any loyalty scheme, for groceries, fuel or anything else.

Yes I appreciate we don’t have to have one, but I don’t want to be paying top wack for my groceries.
More & more products are being added to ‘save with club card’.
I just feel sorry for the homeless who don’t have emails, or addresses to have one of these loyalty cards.
When I shop at Sainsburys I pass on my card so that the person in front can save a few quid, if they don’t have a card.

Asda do rewards, not as good as club card deals. They used to be very good, but not so much now- you get cash rewards for buying certain items.
